Chapter 676 - Romance in the Frozen World (4)

It was the very same combat style that had driven Hela to madness before, and now, when I was sparring with Esdeath, she was raging to an end after some time. Both women had rather short tempers, and they were the worst match when fighting someone who knew how to ignite that spark.

Someone like me, because I have developed this fighting style specifically to counter people who were far more powerful than me, and it allowed me to defeat those who were far more powerful than me.

Many people let themselves be completely dominated by their emotions, which wasn't doing them any good, not like they were aware of it for most of the time. Now, I was doing the exact same thing to the Silver-Horned Tattooed Bear, and for me, it was pretty entertaining.

For the non-intelligent specimen, this method was working several times more effectively because if one delved too deeply into their instincts or emotions, they could be baited into doing something foolish much more easily.

Silver-Horned Tattooed Bear, who was going berserk completely, was already having several life-threatening injuries, and it was clear to anyone with even untrained eyes that the Silver-Horned Tattooed Bear was on its last legs.

It would drop dead every second.

I didn't really need to do much, and in fact, I wasn't even going to do much because it wasn't really worth it. Despite everything, the Silver-Horned Tattooed Bear was still pretty powerful, and right now, it was at the peak of its combat prowess.

The Silver-Horned Tattooed Bear was right now unleashing pretty dangerous levels of power, and its strikes, albeit becoming slower, still contained rather high destructive power. If I got hit by such an attack, even by one randomly, it could be pretty dangerous for me.

I just kept my distance from the Silver-Horned Tattooed Bear, and soon enough, once I saw the opportunity to finish off the Silver-Horned Tattooed Bear, I rushed toward the creature and stabbed with my sword through the Silver-Horned Tattooed Bear's neck, in a place that was already wounded from one of the previous exchanges.

Soon enough, the Silver-Horned Tattooed Bear stopped moving for several seconds. It started shaking a bit before the enormous creature dropped down to the ground and started dying slowly.

I looked at the Silver-Horned Tattooed Bear as the creature fought rather well, so I delivered a blow of mercy to the Silver-Horned Tattooed Bear, killing it on the spot. Leaving it to die slowly, in long and agonizing death, would be just senseless cruelty.

Seeing that the Silver-Horned Tattooed Bear has died made me sigh in relief as the most troublesome part of the Partas Tribe Courtship rituals was complete; we had the most problematic aspect of the entire endeavor behind us.

"You could have fought more proactively, you know?"

Esdeath asked as she came to me, looking at the Silver-Horned Tattooed Bear with a defeated expression because the fight wasn't really a fight in the end. Only the Silver-Horned Tattooed Bear was fighting while I was dodging and occasionally counterattacking.

"You are just annoyed because you wanted to see more entertain fight than this? Am I not right?"

I asked as Esdeath looked at the specimen of the Silver-Horned Tattooed Bear that fell by my hand as it was rather big specimen. It was a male Silver-Horned Tattooed Bear that was for sure, and it was very possible that this was Alpha that was kicked out of the group.

According to Esdeath, the Silver-Horned Tattooed Bears lived in the colonies while the colonies were consisting of the groups. Each group consisted of a few tens of Silver-Horned Tattooed Bears, with the Alpha at the top of the hierarchy.

When a new Alpha Silver-Horned Tattooed Bear emerged from the group, the scenario that followed would be rather simple. The two bears would clash for the leadership of the group, and the one who was defeated would either be killed or banished from the group.

"You are really insufferable sometimes."

Esdeath muttered as she started dissecting the Silver-Horned Tattooed Bear and focused on the Silver Horn of the Silver-Horned Tattooed Bear. As a member of the Partas Tribe, she actually knew of the method that could safely remove the Silver Horn of the Silver-Horned Tattooed Bear.

Normally, during the courtship tradition, the man would be doing this as he would present the woman that he wanted to court with the most valuable part of the hunted prey; Esdeath knew that one slight mistake would lead to severe consequences and spectacular failure.

The method of safely removing the Silver Horn of the Silver-Horned Tattooed Bear was something that was taught only to the core members of the Partas Tribe and those of the main lineage.

Even I could see the special connection of the Silver Horn of the Silver-Horned Tattooed Bear it had with the Immaterium. Though not in a bad meaning, like it was being connected to the Chaos Gods and the Ruination, but the Silver Horn had something even more precious.

The purification properties of the Psychic Origin in the Imamterium.

This Silver Horn could be used as a method of killing the Daemons in the real world, which was something that was extremely rare and scarce. Normally, if the Daemons are killed in the material world, they are not really killed, but instead, it was just their physical form that was destroyed.

They would reform within the Immaterium at some point.

Depending on their power, the time of their reform would be determined.

"That being said... I didn't know that the Silver Horn of the Silver-Horned Tattooed Bear had purification properties on the Immaterium. Do you have more powerful variations of it?"

Encountering something that had purification properties on the Warp was very rare, even during the age of the Solar Terran Federation. During my life there, I saw such objects only three or four times.

Though...

The understanding of the Warp from the side of the Solar Terran Federation wasn't really that great compared to some other species in the Milky Way Galaxy, much less being said about the Aeldari, who were like Psychic Gods compared to humanity.
