In the Partas Tribe, the primary requirement of the females when it came to the selection of Mates was their strength. Everything that mattered for the females of the Partas Tribe was their strength and their skills in hunting the prey and bringing back the food.
From a certain point of view, the Partas Tribe was no different from a group of techno barbarians, as they had access to some of the most advanced pieces of technology due to the STCs on the planet Fenran Rex IX., yet their society was tribal and had many traditions and customs that many would consider as primitive and barbaric.
For me, all of those were just subjective terms.
So, it was only natural that Esdeath, who was the strongest member of the Partas Tribe and also the most skilled hunter of the Tribe, knew no defeat in single combat or even anything remotely connected to it.
It was an entirely new feeling and experience for Esdeath, and despite her very cold, ruthless, and bloodthirsty exterior... it was very easy to overlook the fact that even she was a woman.
So, that led us here.
Right now, we were standing in the freezing wilderness of the Fenran Rex IX. as they were hunting. Which was once again, probably the most common activity during the courtship in the Partas Tribe.
Esdeath explained to me that it was like a protocol, and she wasn't really beating around the bush with her words and intentions. When she wanted something, she wouldn't really give any hints; she said it out loud once she had made up her mind about this topic.
Once the scan on the samples of the Psykers from the Frozen Coven was complete, I had everything that was needed.
Now, I just needed to recycle the biological materials from the corpses of the Psyker, mix them with my own DNA, and adjust the Genemome Sequence to create my own Psyker Gene, which would then be subsequently integrated into the Gene Sequence of this body.
I chose this approach because, in this way, there would be practically zero chances of failure when the Psyker Gene was ingested into my own body. This clone body was too precious to be lost, and it was my only chance to reach the Black Library and obtain the artifacts of the Old Ones.
There was one such Artefact that was a remnant of the Old Ones, according to rumors that I still remember from my first life. At some point, the Solar Federation even wanted to wage war on the Aeldari Empire to obtain the artifacts of the Old Ones so humanity could ascend to Psychic Godhood.
After above what the Aeldari could ever be.
The Old Ones were an ancient, technologically and psychically advanced intelligent species of cold-blooded reptilian beings or an alliance of individual advanced species. They established an interstellar empire across the Milky Way Galaxy tens of millions of Terran years ago.
The Old Ones ruled over the Milky Way before the development of most of the other sentient species of the galaxy. They were the first species to attain the sentence in the Milky Way galaxy, the first ones to cross the seas of the stars, and the first ones in practically everything when it came to the Milky Way Galaxy.
The Old Ones became embroiled in a great conflict over 60 million Terran years ago with the C'tan and their Necron servants, a war that they lost. After their defeat, the Old Ones either went extinct or disappeared from the galaxy, their fate or destination unknown.
Nobody knows what happened with them, but one day, they disappeared.
But their Legacy remained here.
"Zeo, are you here? I found the track of the Silver-Horned Tattooed Bear. "
Esdeath's voice woke him out of his thoughts, as he was already thinking about where to go once he left this frozen hellhole. The moment he got his hands on the Psyker Gene, he would literally receive an almost impossible boost in power, and he would just storm the Southerners and take what he wanted from them.
Then again, building up the spaceship wouldn't be a problem, and bon voyage, Fenran Rex IX.
The Silver-Horned Tattooed Bears were regarded as one of the fiercest and most powerful native Danger Beasts that lived on the Fenran Rex IX., since the colony was created in the Golden Age of Technology. At the same time, these beasts were also known for their wisdom and intelligence, as they were known for their immense strength.
On average, they were around 15 meters long when they were on their fours, though their most notable striking feature is the singular curved silver horn that spirals from the center of their forehead, gleaming under any light as if it were made of liquid moonlight.
The Silver-Horned Tattooed Bears had very thick fur, that shimmered between deep obsidian and starlit silver, appearing almost ethereal when it moves through the dense, misty forests it calls home. Its fur was capable of withstanding a tremendous degree of punishment, which gave the Silver-Horned Tattooed Bears really fearsome defensive capabilities.
Covering their muscular bodies were glowing tattoos, intricate patterns that pulsed with a soft, bioluminescent light. These tattoos shifted and changed depending on the bear's mood: faint and subdued when calm, blazing with brilliance when enraged.
The markings were said to be ancient sigils of protection, granting the beast immunity to dark magic and allowing it to communicate with spirits of the forest.
Among the natives, it was often told that legends spoke of a Silver-Horned Tattooed Bear that appeared only to those in dire need, guiding lost travelers with its luminous patterns or offering cryptic visions of the future.
Their furs were also considered a rare material, which were often woven into the clothing or armor on the Fenran Rex IX., because of their flexibility and durability, creating rather perfect materials to craft very strong pieces of armor.
Not to mention, their Silver Horns were one of the rarest and most precious ingredients into various Elixirs and Serums, yet it was also very problematic to harvest them.
