They were taking a slow journey to the Icecrown Citadel, and it was not like I was complaining about such a thing.
On the contrary, one could say that it was most probably relaxing because teaching Esdeath how to handle bureaucratic and administrative work, paperwork, and other things of a similar character was a total pain in the ass.
And it was obviously something that I never wanted to experience again. Fortunately, though, she was rather bright and smart, and her strategic/logical thinking shone in this regard, so she was picking things up pretty fast.
If not for that, I would die, most probably from the annoyance. Yet still, even with all of this combined, it was more than evident that it was pretty hard for her to learn all of the things that she needed in a short time.
Throughout her life, she avoided such activities whenever possible, often shifting the burden to the officers beneath her in the chain of command, as she preferred to lead troops on the battlefield and fight powerful enemies.
And now, there was the most powerful enemy of all...
A stack of papers.
Still, she was doing admirably for the time being.
Both me and Esdeath were sitting in the armored vehicle, one that was used to serve as a transportation vehicles for the higher-ups of the Partas Tribe. So, one could expect a lot of space and a high degree of luxury within the vehicle, something that was certainly welcomed.
Unfortuly, due to the siege of the Frozen Coven, most of the place was destroyed, especially the living quarters and non-crucial areas of the Frozen Coven. Even though I was older than 13,000 years, one could say that, in some parts, I was rather vain.
I liked my luxury and being surrounded by the higher grade of services and everything that the power could provide. As I thought over it, this was something that I caught from Venelana; among my wives, she was the one who liked to have everything of the highest quality and such.
Hela didn't care a bit; as long as her weapons and armor were there, she didn't care about such things.
Grayfia was a rather peculiar case because even though she was born as Heiress Aparant to the House of Lucifuge, one of the most prestigious Devil Noble Houses, she wasn't the one who was really into that kind of noble lifestyle.
Bibi Dong was the opposite because she was born as an orphan in a desolate village of the Douluo Continent and climbed to the top; despite everything, she never forgot her roots, so she never cared that much about the luxuries of the lifestyle for the rich and powerful.
And for Gu Yuena, well... she was dragon and tsundere at the same time, rather a precarious combination, though she rather liked to sleep on the mountain of treasures and gold, despite her rather active efforts to deny those claims.
"So, how are you progressing with the paperwork?"
I asked when I noticed that she was doing something over her touchpad... during the times that I spent in the Partas Tribe they started increasingly using the technology and especially after I helped to prepare some of the STC, many things became much easier for them.
Unfortunately, though, the Fenran Rex IX. wasn't a planet that had many STCs or research laboratories or Vaults that housed a lot of precious technology from the Golden Age of Technology from the times of the Solar Terran Federation.
The technology wasn't really that developed across the Fenran Rex IX. as much as I would have wished, but fortunately enough, it wasn't the worst situation. It was clear that with some modern gadgets that were here to help Esdeath in the bureaucracy, she was getting more used to it.
She also, in the end, relented to my arguments about the need for proper structure of the army, which wasn't just about the chain of command and leading soldiers onto the battlefield.
"It's going well, but I still stand by my argument that this entire ordeal is boring as hell..."
I nodded my head at that, and certainly, I was rather proud that she started doing something different than just fighting enemies. Esdeath was really similar to that of Hela, but even Hela had to admit that it wasn't really possible to live that one.
One could be easily consumed by their very own killing and slaughter intent, so they would often need to mitigate the side effects of that to something else. Hela was rather close to falling apart in the ancient past, especially when she had the famous fallout with her father Odin.
At that age, she was very close to falling into the madness of slaughter and rage because the only thing that she wanted was to kill anyone who wronged her. When I first met Hela, she wasn't really that far from falling into the darkest corner of her psyché.
I knew very well the dangers of devoting life to killing the enemy and so on.
"You will get used to it after some time. Though If you want, I can help you; right now, I don't have anything to do..."
Certainly, I was rather bored right now because there wasn't much to do, aside from preparing some things for the upcoming Psyker Gene implementation into my body in the future.
However, all of that was currently being handled by the clone of the Architect that was within my body as well. Architect was working really hard on the simulations and everything related to the last batch of experiments with the Psyker Gene.
At the same time, because I already had enough samples of the Psyker Gene from the deceased Psykers from the Frozen Coven.
"No... I will deal with it by myself..."
She stated almost defensively because Esdeath had a great deal of pride in her own capabilities, and when she was doing something, then she would also be finishing it on her own.
