The sheer look on Uncle Davis' face would've been enough to take down a fully grown bear. Facing the accusations of the very woman they had hired, he turned to look at the Alpha in panic.
"Lies! Lies, I tell you!"
I raised a brow. "Lies? How come?"
Uncle Davis shot me a cruel glare, but I wasn't in any way moved. Everyone saw right through his bullshit, but he did not seem to care as he kept trying to spin one false tale or the other.
"I'll have your head for this, Kaeren! How dare you bring some filthy lunatic in here and have her point fingers of accusation at me?! Me! Do you have any idea what degree of punishment this action of yours will bring about?? Cease this at once, and I may overlook your transgressions!"
I scoffed and turned to look at Lynn. My voice was unhurried as I said, "What about you? Are you also going to deny your actions? Or will you confess?"
