Chapter 141: THIRD POV.
Jacob opened the door and found Persephone standing right outside. Her pink hair was still a bit wet, and her eyes lit up the moment she saw him.
"Jacob! I've been looking everywhere for you," she said. Her voice was bright and excited, like a child who had found a hidden treasure.
But then her gaze drifted past him and into the room. Her eyes landed on the bed where Artria was sitting.
Artria smiled and gave a small wave. "Hi."
Persephone's face changed. The excitement vanished, replaced by something tighter. "What are you doing here?" she asked, her voice not as warm as before.
"I happened to run into him," Artria replied before Jacob could say anything.
Persephone frowned. Her eyes narrowed just a little. She didn't believe it for a second. It was too much of a coincidence that Artria had "happened" to run into Jacob in his own room.
