Raven quietly closed the bedroom door behind him, taking one last glance at the peacefully sleeping figures inside.
Missy had finally fallen asleep beside Jason, one arm resting protectively around their son even in her dreams. Jason, meanwhile, slept soundly after being gently rocked in his father's arms, his tiny chest rising and falling in slow, steady breaths.
For a brief moment, Raven simply stood there.
The room felt warm.
Safe.
Peaceful.
A sight he had once believed he would never be fortunate enough to witness.
His fingers lingered on the doorknob before he quietly exhaled.
"I'll be back soon," he whispered, though neither mother nor son could hear him.
Only then did he close the door as softly as possible before making his way downstairs.
The family lounge was now empty.
The lingering scent of fresh flowers Tristan had brought earlier still filled the room.
Mrs. Rosie appeared from the hallway carrying a serving tray.
"Oh, Sir Raven."
"How is Madam?"
