Chapter 65 - The Cruel Humor of Fate

The private meeting room overlooked the city through floor-to-ceiling windows.

Henry stood beside the table, reviewing several documents while Raven remained seated across from him.

A collection of antique pieces from an old aristocratic family was scheduled for a private acquisition.

The collection itself wasn't particularly important.

What interested Raven was the history attached to it.

"The owner should be arriving shortly," Henry said.

Raven gave a brief nod.

A few moments later, a knock sounded on the door.

"Come in."

The door opened.

Raven had prepared himself for this meeting long before he arrived in London.

He had reviewed the information several times, listened to Henry's report, and even convinced himself that there was a reasonable explanation behind the rumors that had reached him.

After all, people resembled one another all the time.

A familiar face did not necessarily mean anything.

That was what he had told himself.
