Ka'z sipped the warm chicken soup from the wooden spoon and let out a satisfied sigh as he leaned against the hay bed behind him.
His entire body still felt sore from the five days he had spent cultivating without moving, and even after reaching the Silver Core Realm, the exhaustion had not completely disappeared. The food helped considerably.
Za'r sat beside him with a small bowl resting in her hands, smiling as she tore a piece of chicken into smaller pieces before scooping it up with some of the broth and bringing it toward his mouth. Ka'z opened his mouth without complaint and ate, a small smile appearing on his face as the warmth settled in his stomach.
"So how is the work going?" Ka'z asked after swallowing.
Ru'k immediately threw up one hand and gave him an enthusiastic thumbs up, his chest puffing out with pride. "We finished yesterday."
"Good." Ka'z nodded with a pleased smile.
