A whole series of spells—[Cursed Lightning], [Cursed Ice Crystals], [Sword of Light], [Bottomless Swamp], [Explosion Magic], [Cursed Crystal Prison], [Teleportation Magic], and [Magic Transfer]—were displayed on Wiz's cards.
Asuna and the others were completely dumbfounded as they looked at the displayed skills. This was a literal magic library! Was it really this comprehensive? No wonder Ren Isana had insisted on seeking her out.
After a brief discussion, everyone began to learn. Their first choice, naturally, was [Teleportation Magic]. This was [Spatial Magic], after all—everyone was incredibly eager to get their hands on something as rare as teleportation.
Once they finished learning [Teleportation Magic], they moved on to the rest. The group huddled together and divided the spells among themselves to learn. Even if they couldn't master them all right now, they could always teach each other later.
Everyone specifically picked spells with elemental affinities they didn't already possess. Ren also took the opportunity to learn a few, his main target being [Magic Transfer]. He wanted that spell more than anything, as it allowed the user to transfer their Magic Power to others.
For someone like Ren, who possessed infinite Magic Power, learning this was absolutely perfect. In the future, if anyone ran out of mana, he could just frantically pump his own Magic Power into them. Aside from that, Ren was also highly interested in the Lich's innate racial skill.
The ability to drain Magic Power from others. With that in mind, once everyone had more or less finished learning, Ren turned to Wiz. "Wiz, could you demonstrate your Lich racial skill for me?"
Wiz froze at the sudden request. She blinked, unable to stop herself from pointing out, "That magic... other people can't learn it. It's exclusive to Liches."
She didn't understand why Ren wanted to see it, but she felt obligated to warn him. If he was hoping to learn it, he should give up on the idea right now.
"I know. I just want to see it," Ren explained with a smile. "You can cast it directly on me. If there's one thing I have an abundance of, it's Magic Power."
Asuna and the others, well aware of Ren's abilities, didn't say a word. They simply watched in silence. Judging by the name, this spell was far from ordinary. [Magic Drain]? It was a spell that absorbed Magic Power, right?
Hearing this, Wiz hesitated for a moment before agreeing. Still, she couldn't help but offer one last warning. "A Lich's [Magic Drain] can be quite uncomfortable. It... even drains life force. Are you sure you want to try this?"
The kind-hearted Wiz didn't want to drain anyone's Magic Power—if she did, she wouldn't have nearly starved to death in the first place. Maliciously draining others was something only evil Liches did.
"Life force? That's the last thing I'm short on. You might not believe it, but I'm basically immortal now. Come on, show me!" Ren chuckled at her concern. *It's just a little life force.*
His health bar had no cap. Ever since he acquired the [Third Magic], Ren had become an ageless, undying existence. Especially now that his soul and physical body had completely merged, his flesh was just like his soul—immortal and imperishable.
Wiz was taken aback by his claim of immortality. Even Iroha Sakayori and the other underclassmen turned to look at him. Was their upperclassman really that absurd? He was actually immortal?
Growing stronger naturally increased one's lifespan, but achieving true immortality was incredibly difficult. Yet what were they hearing now? Ren was an immortal? Just how powerful was he at this point?
It was intensely curiosity-inducing. Wiz, meanwhile, couldn't help but look Ren up and down. After sensing the boundless, majestic life force radiating from him, she swallowed any further protests.
Stepping a little closer, Wiz said, "Then, please give me your hand, Ren. If you feel any discomfort, please speak up immediately. I'll stop right away."
Ren nodded, signaling her to begin. He wanted to see exactly how much Wiz could drain. He was far too interested in this Lich's [Magic Drain].
At his cue, Wiz began to siphon his Magic Power. Ren immediately felt how the spell worked. *It doesn't just absorb Magic Power, it pulls life force too. This thing is actually pretty incredible.*
As she absorbed Ren's power, Wiz felt an overwhelming sense of comfort wash over her. Her entire Lich being felt light and floaty. It felt absolutely amazing—she had never experienced anything this euphoric in her life.
"Nn... ah..." Meaningless sounds slipped from Wiz's lips as she drank in Ren's life force. The sheer pleasure was melting her brain; she had never felt something so wonderful.
*So this is why those other Liches love draining people's Magic Power!* Wiz finally understood. Who could possibly resist a feeling like this? Even she had completely surrendered to it for a brief moment.
However, she quickly forced herself to calm down. As a good Lich, she couldn't allow herself to fall into depravity! She glanced at Ren's perfectly normal complexion and breathed a silent sigh of relief, reluctantly letting go of his hand.
"Why did you stop?" Ren asked, looking rather disappointed. He was letting her absorb his life force, and she didn't even want it? Why the sudden halt?
Wiz was utterly baffled by his reaction. She stared at him in confusion. Who in their right mind actually *wanted* to be drained by a Lich? "Are you okay?" she asked, her face full of suspicion.
Seeing her suspicious look, Ren found it highly amusing. "If you want to keep draining, go right ahead. I don't feel a thing, and it's a good chance for you to replenish yourself~!"
Those words plunged Wiz into silence. She had never met a human like this before. Did this count as food delivering itself to her doorstep? Even as the thought crossed her mind, she had no intention of continuing.
"This is enough. I've absorbed plenty. I'm not that kind of Lich!" Wiz declared, her tone incredibly resolute, as if she were stating a matter of utmost importance.
The quality of Ren's life force was astonishingly high. Just that brief sip had replenished more than half of her reserves. The life force currently coursing through her body was enough to sustain her for a whole month without food or drink.
*This is wonderful! I've saved so much money. If I don't have to buy groceries for a month, I can use those savings to stock up on more inventory!* Wiz's mood soared at the thought.
Hearing her refusal, Ren didn't press the issue. If she didn't want to drain him, so be it. He had already gotten what he wanted anyway.
"Your [Magic Drain] is fantastic, Wiz. I already have a few ideas. With a little modification, I can turn it into a spell usable by humans," Ren said with a smile, organizing the thoughts in his head.
A massive question mark practically materialized over Wiz's head. What did he mean, he already had ideas? Was he saying he had figured out the underlying principles of her [Magic Drain] just from being siphoned *once*?
Wiz's brain completely short-circuited. She stared at Ren blankly. *Seriously? Are you just trying to trick this poor little Lich?*
"There's no need to be surprised. Ren is just like that," Asuna explained with a smile, noticing her dumbfounded expression. "As long as he grasps the basic principles of something, he can perfectly replicate it."
But that explanation only shocked Wiz even more. Just what kind of existence was the person standing in front of her? Was he truly human? Wiz stared at Ren in utter bewilderment.
Ren met her gaze and smiled. "Sorry for troubling you today, Wiz. Thank you for your generosity—you've been a huge help!"
With that, Ren glanced at Asuna. Catching his meaning instantly, Asuna pulled a heavy pouch from her [Spatial Ring]. "Wiz, please accept this money!"
Even though Wiz had said she wouldn't charge them, they still decided to pay. They had to prevent this adorkable older sister from starving to death in the future because she couldn't afford food. Besides, there would likely be plenty of opportunities to interact with her down the line.
The Lich before them clearly had a complicated background. They might need to ask for her help again in the future, so it was best to build a good relationship now. Asuna placed the pouch of coins directly on the table.
Seeing this, Wiz hurriedly waved her hands. "Please, take it back! I can't accept your money! You already treated me to a meal!!"
Wiz was genuinely panicking. When she said it was free, she meant it. A Lich always keeps her word! She wasn't some greedy monster—how could she take their money?
"Say no more. We aren't short on money, but you certainly are. Otherwise, you wouldn't have passed out from hunger," Ren said, looking at her with amusement.
Wiz's face flushed bright red at his words. This was just too humiliating. Fainting from hunger... *I want to find a hole and crawl into it!!*
"Exactly. So please, accept the money," Asuna said, offering a warm smile and a piece of advice. "But you really need to be more careful in the future, Wiz. No matter what you're doing, please make sure you set aside enough money for food!"
Listening to them, Wiz's face burned so hot she couldn't even look them in the eye. It was embarrassing—super embarrassing. At the same time, she secretly resolved to always budget for her meals from now on!
"Alright, this trip was a complete success. We still have things to do, Wiz, so we'll be taking our leave. We won't bother you any longer." Smiling at her reaction, Ren bid her farewell.
With that, Ren turned and headed for the door, the others quickly following suit. Seeing them leave, Wiz hurriedly called out, "Thank you... If you ever need help with anything in the future, please don't hesitate to ask!!"
Ren waved his hand dismissively before pushing the door open and stepping outside. Only after the group had completely departed did Wiz finally let out a long sigh. *I really made a fool of myself today!!*
Stepping out of Wiz's shop, Ren looked at the group. "Let's go. We'll find a spot to test things out and see if you've gained any new elemental affinities. I'll teach you a few simple elemental spells."
Leaving them with those words, Ren began walking toward the outskirts of the city. He was incredibly eager to see how everyone had changed. If they could truly acquire new magic affinities through this method, the significance of this world would be absolutely monumental.
If it actually worked, then everyone in his party would eventually become omni-elemental mages. At the same time, Ren also needed to investigate exactly where the upper limits of this world lay!
