After Lucas copied John's shot green road called a time out. "Okay so we need to change are strategies." John said.
"Remind me how you are the captain again John," Fred demanded.
"Fred," John replied. "Your temper is terrible you got angry after Lucas showed copy, second I'm a fourth year here." John was thinking of a knew strategy but Fred stood up. "Alright then," he said. "But I have useful information. Lucas only has four bursts of speed. They take a lot out of him, and he's already used two against us. We just need to force him to use the other two."
"Well that's good to know," John replied. "Fred I'll let you deal with that. Point Guard Vs Point Guard and just incase well sub are current power forward out for Arron."
The game started again and Fred instantly started marking Lucas. "Well this is knew," Lucas said.
"Well we knew without you," Fred started. "Your team is a lot weaker." Lucas's eyes suddenly focused. Lucas suddenly burst forward to catch the loose ball cause Jake had to pass to Harley which Neil had blocked. Fred just let Lucas pass. "They are planning something," Lucas thought. "I should conserve my last burst. No something tells me there is a difference plan."
Lucas slowed his speed slightly. Neil ran in front of Lucas the ball wasn't in Lucas's hand even though he had caught it. Neil looked around the ball wasn't any where. Until he looked behind him. Silas had the ball but not for long. Arron hit the ball with his finger tips before Silas could fully control it. John grabbed the lose ball passing it to Fred. And again Fred tore through Hudders until he got Jake. During the time out Lucas told Jake one thing "don't move until Fred has fully committed to a route." Fred tried to trick Jake into going left but then put the ball back to his right. Jake didn't move. Then Fred committed to going to the right. Jake didn't seem to try and stop him. But Jake's hand snapped behind Fred and hit the ball from his right hand. Jake sprinted to the ball getting to it just before Fred could. Jake threw the ball up to Lucas. Lucas then passed to Kyran who caught it and shot. Arron jumped and touched the ball slightly. Ball hit the rim flying to the free throw above 10 foot straight up. "Neil get ready to get the ball-" John shouted until he saw someone jump just before the three point line. It was Jake. He reached the ball and at the highest part of his jump his waist was level with the hoop. Jake flew fowards slamming the ball into the hoop. 36: 33 to Green road. "How that shouldn't be humanly possible," Green Road's coach shouted.
"You say that but who hasn't to things that hadn't been done before," Lucas says calmly. "But nothing is impossible as long as you have the right thing for it." Arron picked the ball up and passed to John who just threw it up taking a gamble. A 50/50 chance shot for Kyran but for John it was more of a 2% chance to succeed and 98% chance to fail. Swish. The ball went in. 39:36 Green Road. Lucas ran to where the ball had stopped. He looked over where the others are. Kyran. Jake. Silas. None of them had enough energy to go all out again. Only option left was for the duo that Jake and Kyran never wanted to face. "Harley," Lucas called. "We need to get at least a 3 pointer to tie this game but neither of us can shoot a three. So we need a 2 pointer twice. So let's go back to what work best back then."
"Fine just this once," Harley agreed. Lucas passed the ball to Harley. Harley dribbled the ball up the court. Neil stopped Harley at the halfway line. Harley started going left. Neil almost followed until Harley didn't have the ball. "Who ever said it was only them this is the last time I can do this though," Silas said. The ball flew to Lucas and he caught it getting to the three point line. Lucas passed. Not to Kyran for the open three, not to Jake for a long range dunk. But to Harley creating a play he could use to his advantage. Harley caught the pass and shot even with John in the way. It looked like it would be blocked. But the chaos shows. The ball curved just pass John's hand. Swish. The ball went it. 39:38. John and Arron tried the gamble shot again but this time it hit the rim. Jake who had stayed back caught it throwing it to Kyran for a three. 5 seconds left. "When did the quarter get passed a minute," Lucas thought. Kyran shot the ball. 4 seconds. Arron touched the ball again. The ball hit the rim. 3 seconds. Lucas didn't think he just jumped. 2 seconds. Lucas reached the ball and the rim. 1 second. Lucas slammed it into the net just before the buzzer. The ref, who every player forgot was even there as he barely did anything, announced the final score "41:39 to Hudders highschool. Well done Hudders."
