Definition:
The Abyss is an abstract dimension formed from the accumulation of sentient emotions and desires.
Unlike the Spirit World, the Abyss does not exist as a natural part of the cosmos. Instead, it is born as a consequence of psychological phenomena that have accumulated throughout history.
Nature:
Exists outside the physical world.
Is independent in nature.
Is not under the authority of the gods.
Operates under laws of reality different from the physical world.
Entities:
The Abyss is inhabited by various races and forms of life.
Demons are only one of many entities originating from the Abyss.
Existential Dependence:
The Abyss persists due to the continuous accumulation of sentient emotions and desires.
As long as such phenomena exist within sentient life, the Abyss remains stable as a dimension.
Connection to the Physical World:
Under certain conditions, the interaction between these phenomena and mana in the physical world can give rise to ghosts, curses, and various other anomalous entities.
Connection to the Abyss:
Sentient beings may establish or experience a connection to the Abyss.
Since the Abyss is formed from the accumulation of sentient emotions and desires, any such connection may result in whispers, external influence, and perceptions of the entities that inhabit the dimension.
The deeper the connection becomes, the greater the risk of mental instability, uncontrollable obsession, personality distortion, and eventual madness.
Not all individuals are affected in the same way. The degree of influence depends on the depth of the connection as well as the individual's ability to preserve their identity and consciousness.
