**Chapter 859: The Reckoning**
**Scene 1: Annihilator War Room – Tarkin POV**
Annihilator, Coruscant orbit.
Clone Wars, Year 3 Month 6 Week 1.
War Room 7.
Tarkin POV.
'Palpatine, dead and his corpse is worn by a Sith lord for almost a year now. It was hard to believe but the information provided by Dagon now matches to what Tarkin remembers before the Clone Wars, the series of corruption on planets even his own and now he had a choice, allow the Senate to debate and elect a weak leader or join Dagon and the Jedi Order in a galactic empire,' Tarkin thought as the officers assembled.
Fleet Admiral Yularen, Fleet Admiral Dittmar, Fleet Admiral Pellaeon, General Veers, Fleet Admiral Piett and Clone Marshal Commander Blam.
"Now then as you all know, the Chancellor is missing and is dead, his corpse used by Sith lord Sidious and Darth Tyrannus you know as Count Dooku. This war was their doing and now it expanded so far that it's no longer just about surrender of the enemy side, it's victory or death now, just like the wars of old," Dagon said as he presented 2 holo tablets.
"This is the Hutt holodiary, contains every dirty deed, the Hutts ever did, their connections, their allies, their worlds. The second is Palpatine fail safe contains corruption in the Senate, Banking Clan, every, major or minor galactic organization going back 50 years plus," Dagon said.
The silence was immediate. They all knew what he was proposing.
They all knew what was about to happen, what Dagon was about to do. Did they have any doubts? Any private, traitorous thoughts? Perhaps, but no one said a word.
"There is precedent that allows the Jedi to retake control and undo everything at the Ruusan Reformations with some extra. The Republic will be led by Jedi lords and a Jedi supreme Chancellor until then war is safe and the Galaxy is under control, but to do this we must act. What are your opinions?" Dagon asked.
Silence, 3 minutes.
"I agree," said Dittmar.
"I agree," said Veers.
"I agree," said Blam.
"I agree," said Pellaeon.
"I agree," said Tarkin.
"I hate this, but I agree," said Yularen.
"Then it is done," Dagon said as he uploaded everything on the galactic web.
Tarkin sat motionless as the weight of the moment settled over the war room. The holographic displays flickered with data streams—decades of corruption, blackmail, and hidden alliances now exposed to the entire galaxy. Palpatine's carefully constructed web of influence was unraveling in real time. The Hutt holodiary alone contained enough evidence to dismantle entire criminal empires.
Dagon's proposal was audacious, but in Tarkin's mind it was the only logical path. The Republic had become a hollow shell, its Senate paralyzed by self-interest. A Jedi-led government, guided by strength and order, offered a chance at true stability. Tarkin had seen the corruption firsthand—his own homeworld of Eriadu had suffered under it. Joining Dagon meant embracing a new era, one where efficiency and power replaced endless debate.
The officers around the table exchanged glances, but their agreement was unanimous. The decision had been made. The Republic would transform, and they would be its architects.
**Scene 2: Jedi Temple – Coruscant**
Jedi Temple.
Jedi Hangar.
"Sir you might want to take a look of this, it's on the web," a clone tech officer said to Master Cin.
"By the Force, alert the Coruscant guard. Martial law is now in effect," Cin said.
The Jedi Temple hangar was a hive of activity as clones and Jedi prepared for rapid deployment. Cin Drallig stood at a central console, his face hardening as he reviewed the leaked data. Decades of Senate corruption, Banking Clan manipulations, and Hutt criminal networks spilled across every screen. The exposure was total.
"By the Force," he muttered, his hand tightening on the console. "Dagon has done it."
Aayla Secura and Zule Xiss stood nearby, their expressions a mix of resolve and concern. The leaked files confirmed everything they had suspected—Palpatine's hidden hand, the Sith influence, the web of blackmail that had controlled the Republic for years.
Cin turned to the assembled Jedi and clone officers. "Alert all Temple security. Lock down the Senate building. No one enters or leaves without authorization. The Coruscant Guard is to enforce martial law immediately. This is no longer politics. This is survival."
The clones moved with practiced efficiency, securing the hangar and preparing gunships. The Jedi Order, long restrained by the Ruusan Reformation, was about to step into a new role. The galaxy was changing, and they would guide it.
**Scene 3: Galactic Senate – Coruscant**
Raio Chuchi mentally cursed the senators, and she had good reason to do so: the Senate was now like a beehive of anxiety; at least ten other senators had gathered around the central Chancellor's platform, vying with each other to express their opinions on the current situation and advise on what to do, creating an unimaginable buzz and hubbub in the chamber, as each believed they should speak first and everyone else should listen. Behind this frenetic activity, they concealed panic, and the Pantoran understood. The horrific images from the scene left no one indifferent. She herself felt a little uneasy, yet she managed to maintain a mask of calm and confidence. Many, however, failed to do so. But to cause such a thing was beyond any excuse…
Accusations were hurled left and right as troopers and Republic intelligence officers arrested various senators and aides and all over Coruscant were raids, arrests and protests, some aimed at senators, some at core planets, some at the Jedi for lies.
The Senate chamber descended into complete pandemonium. Senators shouted over one another, some demanding Palpatine's immediate return, others calling for Dagon's arrest. Republic security forces moved through the aisles, detaining key figures linked to the leaked files. Protests erupted outside the building—crowds clashing with security as news of the corruption spread like wildfire.
Riyo Chuchi stood near the Pantoran delegation, her golden eyes scanning the chaos. "This is madness," she whispered to a colleague. "Dagon has exposed everything. The Senate is finished."
Mon Mothma's voice rose above the noise. "We cannot allow this! The Jedi have no right to seize control!"
Bail Organa tried to restore order, but his words were drowned out by the growing panic. Arrests continued across the chamber as clone troopers and intelligence agents moved with calm precision, guided by the leaked evidence.
Outside, Coruscant itself was in turmoil. Protests turned violent in the lower levels. Loyalist senators were targeted by angry crowds. Core world delegations issued emergency statements. The revelation of Palpatine's true nature and the extent of Senate corruption had shattered public trust.
In the Chancellor's seat, Mas Amedda remained silent, his expression unreadable. The Republic was fracturing, and a new order was rising from the ashes.
