**Chapter 847: The Easy Conquest**
**Scene 1: Annihilator – Fondor Orbit**
Dagon POV.
Fondor was a planet in the Freeworlds Territory of the Tapani sector, famous throughout the galaxy for its extensive orbital shipyards, which were outclassed only by those at Corellia and Kuat. The Shipyards were associated with the Techno Union prior to the Clone Wars, and were vast enough to construct major flagships.
The Clone Wars, Fondor seceded to the Confederacy of Independent Systems, but the populace was generally unsupportive of the Separatist cause, and the planet contributed relatively little to the war effort.
Fondor Shipyards above the planet Fondor was a shipyard that consisted of at least nineteen large, wheel-shaped Imperial dockyards that featured multiple hangars as well as several docking bays for Venator-class Star Destroyers.
Shipyards of Fondor had a varying layout, including large and various space stations and construction devices. The shipyards were operated by thousands of orbital workers who performed their tasks wearing g-suits. The ship-building facilities supplied by the rich mineral resources extracted in a nearby asteroid belt. Materials were also provided by neighboring worlds such as Vandelhelm and Gandeal. Millennia of starship construction had left the planet surrounded by a ring of debris that made space travel in the area very complicated.
It was surprisingly easy to take over, well not really. The Fondorians launched a coup, deactivating the battle droids and killing the CIS leaders in charge.
Then they surrendered to us.
'Well it worked similar to how it happened with the Empire after all. Wasn't the Executor built here or one of its sister ships? Right, competition between Kuat and Fondor during the Imperial era. Oh well, at least I didn't have to attack this world. I really didn't want to accidentally kill General Lee Noriega's family after all. She was half Fondorian—still, which part was her?' Dagon thought.
Dagon Marek stood on the observation deck of the *Annihilator*, the massive super-dreadnought's bridge crew working efficiently around him as the fleet secured orbit over Fondor. The planet below was a jewel of industry, its extensive orbital shipyards—nineteen massive wheel-shaped stations and countless smaller platforms—gleaming against the backdrop of space. Debris from millennia of construction formed a faint ring around the world, a testament to its shipbuilding legacy.
The takeover had been almost bloodless. Local Fondorian workers and engineers, long resentful of CIS control, had launched a swift coup. Battle droids were deactivated en masse, Separatist overseers executed or captured, and the planet's leadership formally surrendered to the Republic within hours of the fleet's arrival.
Dagon allowed himself a small, satisfied smile. 'It worked similar to how it happened with the Empire. Wasn't the Executor built here, or one of its sister ships? Right—competition between Kuat and Fondor during the Imperial era. Oh well, at least I didn't have to attack this world. I really didn't want to accidentally kill General Lee Noriega's family after all. She was half Fondorian—still, which part was her?'
He turned to the tactical display. The shipyards were already being secured by Republic forces. Engineers and clone technicians were moving in to repurpose the facilities for Republic production. Fondor's vast industrial capacity would be a major boost—capable of constructing Venators, Triumphs, and even larger vessels to sustain the war effort.
"General," a clone officer reported, "the Fondorian provisional government has formally pledged loyalty. They're requesting protection and integration into the Republic shipbuilding network."
"Grant it," Dagon replied. "Assign a defensive squadron and begin integration protocols. These yards will be vital for the push into Hutt space."
He leaned against the railing, watching the planet turn below. Lee Noriega's family connections had been a quiet factor in his decision to prioritize diplomacy here. The half-Fondorian general had proven invaluable, and Dagon had no desire to spill innocent blood unnecessarily. The Dragon could be merciful when it suited him.
**Scene 2: Foerost Breakthrough**
"We have received information from Foerost Shipyards. The fleet has reported a major breakthrough of CIS new ships—nearly 500 plus. We lost 5 Silencer Venators and 20 Venators during the attack. The Republic fleet retreated as requested," Fleet Admiral Dittmar reported.
'So Dua Ningo continues as in the story. No matter—the Bothan and Victory fleet is ready for him,' Dagon thought.
"Inform command to leave stealth ships. Once the CIS fleet leaves, take the shipyards and world with full force," Dagon said to Dittmar.
Dittmar nodded sharply, relaying the orders. The bridge of the *Annihilator* remained calm, but the news from Foerost was concerning. The Techno Union had unleashed a new wave of Bulwark Mark 2 battleships and Oplot-2 dreadnoughts—massive, heavily armored vessels designed to counter Republic capital ships. The Republic fleet at Foerost had been forced to retreat after heavy losses, but the retreat had been planned. Stealth ships remained behind to monitor the enemy's movements.
Dagon's eyes narrowed as he studied the tactical map. "They're overextending. Let them commit their new fleet. When they leave Foerost to strike elsewhere, we take it back—and their shipyards with it."
The Dragon's strategy was patient and ruthless. Every CIS move was being anticipated. The new Bulwark-class ships were formidable, but they were not invincible. The Bothan Assault Cruisers and Victory-class Star Destroyers were already being positioned for the counterstrike.
Dagon turned to the viewport, the stars streaking past as the fleet prepared for the next jump. The war was entering its final phase. Fondor was secured. Foerost would fall again. And soon, the head of the snake—Mon Cala, Hapes, and the Hutts—would be within reach.
"Prepare the fleet," Dagon ordered. "We strike when they commit. No mercy."
**Scene 3: The Long Game**
The *Annihilator* and its escorts moved into formation, the Fondor shipyards already buzzing with Republic activity. Engineers from Kuat and Sienar-Jaemus were integrating the facilities, converting them for mass production of Republic designs. Dagon watched the operation with quiet satisfaction. Every new yard strengthened the Republic—and by extension, his own position.
Lee Noriega's voice came through a private channel. "General, my family on Fondor sends their thanks. They were among the first to join the coup."
Dagon smiled faintly. "Tell them the Republic values loyalty, General. Fondor will be well protected."
The half-Fondorian officer's relief was audible. "Understood, sir. The fleet stands ready."
As the *Annihilator* prepared to jump, Dagon reflected on the larger picture. The CIS was fracturing. New ships from the Techno Union were a desperate gamble, but the Republic's industrial base—bolstered by Fondor, Kuat, Corellia, and Sienar—was simply too strong. The Dragon's shadow continued to spread.
The final battles were coming. And Dagon Marek intended to win them all.
