**Chapter 553**
**Scene 1**
**Dagon POV**
**Grey Wolf Bridge**
The Esstran sector had been surprisingly quiet.
Only twelve Munificent-class frigates patrolled a handful of systems — more like ceremonial guards than a real defensive screen. We swept through with minimal resistance, securing the few remaining Separatist outposts and leaving behind small garrisons to hold the line.
Now it was time to push deeper.
"Set course for the Listehol Run," I ordered. "We're entering the Illisurevimurasi sector — the I-Sector. This is where things get interesting."
The holomap updated, showing the hyperlane that connected several key systems near Werncin 3 in the Borderland Regions. These areas had largely fallen under CIS control after the initial droid shutdown and the chaotic reconquest of the Rim. Our target was Sagma — a strategically located system that served as a hub for Corporate Alliance privateers.
Two weeks into this campaign. The Mygeeto operation had been delayed again, giving us an extra month of operational freedom. It was almost comical how history kept repeating itself — only this time it would be Mace Windu, not Ki-Adi-Mundi, who would have to deal with the consequences.
General Elizabeth Johnson of the Brave Boys Legion suddenly entered the bridge and bowed deeply.
"Sir, I kindly request that we lead the attack on Sagma."
I raised an eyebrow. "Easy, General. This is the military, not a monarchy. You don't need to bow. Now explain to me why you want Sagma so badly."
Elizabeth straightened, her expression fierce. "Sir, as you know, Lantilles has always had issues with the Corporate Sector and the Commerce Guild. These Sikurdian privateers have been the worst. They launch quick, destructive raids using DP20 frigates and a modified Mon Cala command ship. They've hit our supply convoys multiple times. My people want payback."
I studied the tactical data. The Sikurdian privateers were affiliated with the Corporate Alliance and now operated as part of the CIS naval forces. Their command ship was particularly interesting — an MC30 frigate, the same fast torpedo-support vessel the future Rebel Alliance would famously use. Fast, heavily armed with proton torpedoes, and excellent for hit-and-run operations.
"Very well," I said after a moment. "You'll lead the initial stealth insertion. We hit them hard and fast — disable their command ship if possible. I want that MC30 intact. After the stealth phase, we begin the full planetary invasion."
Elizabeth's eyes lit up with gratitude. "Thank you, sir. We won't disappoint you."
As she left the bridge, I leaned back in the command chair. This might also be the perfect time to test the Gauntlet fighter transports we had captured from those Mandalorian-aligned pirates. Heavy assault transports capable of carrying troops and vehicles directly into combat — exactly what we needed for rapid planetary insertions.
The Listehol Run awaited.
**Scene 2**
Later, in the ready room, I reviewed the latest intelligence on Sagma. The system was lightly defended but served as a vital resupply and raiding base for the Sikurdian privateers. Their raids on Lantilles and surrounding loyalist systems had been a persistent thorn in our side.
General Johnson's request made perfect sense. Personal stakes often created the strongest motivation — as long as they didn't cloud judgment.
I activated the comm. "Admiral Dittmar, prepare the Gauntlet transports for deployment. We'll use them for the first wave once General Johnson's stealth team confirms the landing zones."
"Understood, General," Dittmar replied. "The Brave Boys are itching for this one."
I allowed myself a small smile. "Let them have their vengeance. Just make sure it's controlled. We're here to liberate, not destroy."
The campaign continued. One system at a time. One victory at a time.
The Hydian Way would be ours.
