Three years later…
Henry Stuart was no longer the man that he had once been.
He was quieter, less vibrant than he had been in the past, and also had considerably less wealth than he'd had in the beginning.
The Terrells had stayed true to their promise to cut the Stuarts off, and the effects had been even more devastating than Henry had ever thought that they would be.
The Stuart empire had crumbled in a matter of months.
He had gone from being a feared and respected man to just a man. Someone that other business men and women never wanted to be close to.
Had he not been overcome by sadness over the fate that had befallen his daughter, he might have fought back, tried to rebuild.
But Henry had not had any fight left in him, and he'd retreated from high society.
