Chapter 138 - Chapter 138: Gran vs Quitella - 6

Perfected Ultra Instinct, Super Saiyan 4, and the Divine Realm!

Gran didn't just touch the threshold; he skipped the Half-step Angel rank entirely and ascended straight to the true Angel Level!

The sheer force of his ascension sent terrifying shockwaves through the barrier maintained by the nine Angels. A tide of energy churned like primordial chaos, waves of golden brilliance clashing with the violet hues of a Destroyer.

The energy began to spiral counter-clockwise like a cosmic storm ravaging the world, and each time it slammed into the barrier, it produced an earth-shattering thrum that resonated through the void.

"What... what kind of power is this?"

"It can't be... is he actually...?"

"How is this possible?!"

"This is insane! Gran is more terrifying than Beerus now! Is the Angel Level really that easy to reach?!"

"I don't believe it! I can accept Beerus becoming a Half-step Angel, but why is his candidate even more ridiculous than he is?! I must be seeing things. Cus, tell me the truth—am I hallucinating?!"

The Gods of Destruction were losing their minds, their faces twisted in absolute disbelief. Even the Angels were stunned. It hadn't been that long, yet Gran had actually reached their level. Was this the true terror of his "Transcendent" potential?

"Hahaha!" The Old Supreme Kai was acting like a total lunatic, grabbing Beerus and shaking him violently. "Lord Beerus! Gran is actually stronger than you now!"

Shin, caught up in the madness, hopped onto Beerus's back and started tugging at his cat-like ears. "Incredible! So this is the ultimate state of the Saiyan race? It's magnificent! Quitela is finished!"

Champa's chest heaved as he tried to contain his envy. "No way... I can't let Beerus have all the luck. I'm making Gran my candidate, too!"

Vados sighed helplessly. "Lord Champa, I'd love for Gran to be my disciple as well, but it's not exactly up to us."

"Hmph! I don't need his permission! From now on, I'll tell everyone I meet. I'm unilaterally declaring Gran as my candidate as well!"

The bickering between Champa and Vados reached Beerus's ears, but he didn't care. He remained fixed on Gran, who stood at the heart of the storm. Pride, excitement, and relief swirled in his heart. He remembered the first time he met Gran and the singular thought that crossed his mind: This boy must be my successor.

Gran had refused at first, but after some "persuasion," he eventually accepted.

"Hahaha!" Beerus burst into laughter, ignoring the two Supreme Kais hanging off him. "This was easily the best decision I've ever made in my life!"

In standard time, only twenty years had passed, yet Gran had surpassed him. Beerus felt a twinge of relief that he had also broken through just now; otherwise, the gap between master and pupil would have been too embarrassing to bear. He realized he'd have to start training seriously again.

In the void ahead, where lightning crackled and gold light reigned, Gran's transformation was complete. Seeing the change, Quitela began to shake uncontrollably.

"Impossible!!! What did you and Beerus do? One reaches Half-step Angel, and the other hits Angel Level? What kind of monsters are you? The heavens truly want me dead!"

Quitela roared at the sky, all hope extinguished. Anything associated with the word "Angel" represented the most terrifying power in existence. Before, when Gran had only touched upon the Angelic state of mind, Quitela had to pay a massive price to gain the upper hand. Now that Gran's raw power had reached that realm, he was doomed.

As the golden aura finally settled, Gran's new form was revealed. He had long, shoulder-length black hair, and his lean, muscular frame was covered in thick crimson fur. His red tail lashed back and forth, each flick causing the void to ripple. His facial features were sharper, rimmed with red eye-lines and golden pupils that burned with a fierce, primal intensity.

"So this is Super Saiyan 4?" Gran looked at his hands.

He hadn't expected the transformation to be this seamless. In the GT chronicles, Goku had to go from a Great Ape to a Golden Great Ape, and then regain his senses through Pan's tears. Every step was a struggle against madness.

But for Gran, he never lost his reason. It felt as if his previous martial arts training had allowed him to enter a unique state in which something deep in his soul guided him.

Is it because I'm not originally from this world? Gran wondered.

Deep within his soul lay a "Dimension Seed"—the same power that had allowed him to reach the peak of the Supreme Kai dimension when he first arrived in the Dragon Ball world. Now that he had achieved Super Saiyan 4, the seed finally stopped vibrating and settled into a calm state.

The void became eerily quiet. Gran turned his gaze toward Quitela, who was slumped over, radiating pure despair. Gran drifted toward him, but Quitela didn't move.

"Quitela," Gran said calmly as he stopped in front of him. "Anything else you want to say?"

"I won't lose! You're the one who's going to die!!" Quitela snapped his head up. In a fit of desperate madness, he unleashed the "Prince's Technique," firing a relentless barrage of ki blasts. Destruction energy and divine power rained down like a frantic storm.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Gran didn't even bother to dodge. He stood there and let the attacks wash over him. As the smoke cleared, Gran was revealed to be completely unscathed. Even Quitela's Level 8 Rules of Destruction couldn't penetrate his defense. This was the pinnacle of power—the absolute strength of the Angel Level.

"I regret it!" Quitela stopped his futile assault, his teeth bared. "I should have stepped in and killed you the moment I had the chance!"

"Hahaha!" Gran laughed. "You really think you could have killed me back then? Do you think Lord Beerus is just some pushover?"

"You..." Quitela clenched his fists until his knuckles cracked, but eventually, the strength left him. "The winner takes all. There's no point in talking anymore. Just do it."

With his spirit broken, Quitela's power plummeted, falling from Peak Level 7 back down to Level 6. He was battered and broken, with hardly a single spot on his body left uninjured. The other Gods of Destruction sighed; the mouse had finally lost.

Gran was surprised by Quitela's sudden acceptance, but the thought was fleeting. He sensed that Quitela wasn't actually planning to go quietly.

"Trying to self-destruct?" Gran smirked. "Even if you blow yourself up, do you think that power can even touch me now?"

"Hahaha, you saw through me. But I can't just sit here and wait for death!" Quitela's body began to swell rapidly, a volatile energy of annihilation surging within him.

But just as he was about to detonate...

"I told you I wanted you to experience the power of my new form. What's the rush?"

Gran moved. His speed was so immense that time itself seemed to lag. With a casual flick of his hand, a massive hole appeared in Quitela's bloated torso.

The self-destruction failed. The wound Gran left caused Quitela's energy to leak out like a punctured balloon, and he quickly shriveled back to his original size.

"Aaaaagh! I regret it! I truly regret it! Why didn't I kill you sooner? If you had died, I wouldn't be facing this end! I regret everything!!"

The backlash of the failed self-destruction began to ravage him. The pain in his soul, body, and will was so intense that he no longer even looked like a mouse.

"Alright, witness my power." Gran stepped back and balled his hand into a fist, channeling the strength of an Angel.

Rumble!

The void twisted and distorted, looking as if it would be torn to shreds.

"What a domineering power," Gran remarked, impressed with himself. He didn't hesitate. A bolt of divine lightning flashed above as Gran's fist moved forward.

BOOM!!!

The impact was like a primordial god carving through chaos. The void boiled over.

"So... this is the power of an Angel?" Quitela forgot his pain, staring blankly as the shockwave closed in. There was nowhere to run.

"NO!!!"

With a final, desperate scream, Quitela's body was torn apart into primordial atoms. The arrogant God of Destruction was gone.

Meanwhile, in the World of Void...

"So the Saiyan race had an ultimate state like that... Quitela's defeat was inevitable." Cognac, the Angel of Universe 4, sighed after hearing Whis's explanation. Suddenly, he sensed something.

"What is it, Brother Cognac?" Whis asked.

"I can no longer sense anything from the direction of Universe 6; the other Angels must have locked it down. However..." Cognac looked at Whis. "I can feel that the position of God of Destruction for Universe 4 is now vacant."

"Oh?" Whis's lips curled into a slight smile. "So Lord Quitela is dead. Fortunately, Universe 4 has a candidate ready; you would be heading for a long nap, Brother."

Cognac gave Whis a dirty look. "Have you been wishing for Lord Quitela to die this whole time?"

"Oh-ho-ho~" Whis didn't answer, he just kept laughing.

Cognac rolled his eyes. "Fine. Lord Quitela was far too narrow-minded anyway. His martial arts had reached their limit long ago. If he's dead, he's dead." He shook his head. "Let's go, it's time to head back."

Whis nodded and prepared to take Broly out of the World of Void. Suddenly, both Whis and Cognac froze, staring in the direction of Universe 6.

"This is bad. It looks like a corner of space-time has been shattered. We need to move, now!" Whis's expression changed instantly. He pulled Broly onto his transport cube and vanished in a flash. Cognac didn't wait for an invite; he summoned his own cube and followed close behind.

Back at the site of Universe 6, only a silent void remained. After being hit by Gran's attack, Quitela had been completely erased. The power of an Angel was so absolute that it destroyed his soul, achieving the same result as the Hakai.

The Old Supreme Kai watched from afar, his eyes tearing up again. "That damn sewer rat is finally dead!"

Champa clutched his chest, looking traumatized. "Is the power of an Angel really that scary? Thank goodness Vados doesn't hit me that hard normally."

Vados giggled behind her hand. "Now you see how well I treat you, Lord Champa. I hope you'll be more obedient from now on."

"I will! I promise!" Champa squeaked like a frightened chick.

Beerus paid little attention to Quitela's death. Against that kind of power, even he wouldn't have stood a chance. He looked at his fist and muttered, "If Gran's power can reach that level... can I do the same?"

The other Gods of Destruction, however, were trembling. During the previous battle royale, they had ordered their candidates to gank Gran with everything they had. Now that Gran was this powerful, what if he decided to settle the score?

The one with the worst look on his face was Giin, the God of Destruction from Universe 12. Ever since Gran took out his candidate, he had been looking for reasons to hate him, even stirring up trouble during the fight with Quitela.

"I have such a big mouth!" Giin snarled, slapping himself hard across the face. The other Gods saw this and couldn't help but smirk. Compared to him, their situations didn't seem quite so bad.

"Lord Beerus, I took care of Quitela!"

In the distance, Gran—having finished the job—started waving and shouting toward Beerus like a happy kid.

However, the void behind him suddenly began to fluctuate.
