Chapter 469 - Deidara's Explosive Art Halts the Coalition's Offensive

Chapter 469: Deidara's Explosive Art Halts the Coalition's Offensive

Akira stood tall, casting a long shadow over Fugaku, who remained kneeling on the floorboards.

"Go back to the medical ward and lie down," Akira said, his voice frigid. "You are injured. Do not attempt to play the hero."

Fugaku gritted his teeth, trying to push himself up. "But..."

The air in the command tent suddenly grew impossibly heavy. An oppressive, suffocating chakra crashed down, pinning Fugaku in place. His muscles locked. His breath hitched in his throat, coming out in ragged, shallow gasps.

"Fugaku."

Akira's tone did not rise. It remained perfectly level, yet it carried the crushing weight of absolute authority.

"Are you questioning my judgment?"

Fugaku's shoulders shook. A bead of cold sweat traced the line of his jaw and dripped onto the floor. "No... I would never dare..."

Akira stepped closer, his crimson eyes glowing faintly in the dim light. "I am the Hokage. I am the Head of the Uchiha Clan. As long as I draw breath and stand upon this earth, the sky will not fall on our people. Now, execute my orders."

The words struck like the tolling of a massive iron bell, leaving a ringing echo in the ears of everyone present.

Fugaku froze. He lifted his head, meeting that piercing, unyielding gaze. The tension bled out of his battered frame. He remembered every battle, every slaughter, every impossible victory. When had the Uchiha ever tasted defeat under this man's rule? The frantic worry clouding Fugaku's vision dissolved, replaced by a deep, fanatical devotion.

Beyond the encampment, the battlefield was a sea of blood and churning earth. The Ninja Allied Forces surged forward, a relentless tidal wave of steel and killing intent.

"Charge!" A Kumogakure Jonin roared, his face twisted in a feral snarl as he swung a broadsword high above his head. Behind him, thousands of Iwagakure and Kumogakure shinobi flooded the broken terrain, their battle cries shaking the clouds.

At the apex of the vanguard, the Fourth Raikage, Ay, tore through the earth like a living thunderbolt. Searing blue arcs of electricity whipped wildly around his massive frame, his Lightning Release Chakra Mode scorching the ground beneath his boots.

"Ōnoki! Stop dragging your feet!" Ay bellowed, his voice booming over the din of war.

Hovering just behind the Raikage, the Third Tsuchikage scoffed, floating effortlessly above the jagged rocks. "Hmph. This old man's back cannot handle your reckless thrashing."

Ōnoki brought his wrinkled hands together, his palms facing inward. "Dust Release: Detachment of the Primitive World Technique!"

A geometric, transparent cube materialized between his hands, expanding rapidly as blinding, pure white light coalesced at its core, threatening to erase everything in its path.

Before the Tsuchikage could unleash the devastating beam, a sharp, manic voice cut through the chaos.

"Katsu!"

The Kumogakure Jonin leading the infantry charge blinked, his momentum faltering. He tilted his head upward. The sky was raining white. Hundreds of tiny, carefully sculpted clay birds fluttered down from the clouds, their wings flapping with eerie grace.

"What kind of trick—" The Jonin scowled, stepping into a heavy stance and swinging his blade upward to swat the nearest bird out of the air.

The cold steel bit into the soft clay. A blinding flash of crimson and gold instantly devoured his vision.

Then, the world tore itself apart.

Plumes of black smoke and fire erupted in rapid succession, ripping through the dense ranks of the Allied Forces. The organized, unstoppable charge shattered into a chaotic mess of flying dirt, severed limbs, and agonizing shrieks. The vanguard vanished in a continuous, deafening chain of detonations.

"Who dares?!" Ay flickered, his lightning-cloaked body blurring out of the path of a massive shockwave. He planted his boots into the scorched earth and glared furiously at the heavens.

High above the carnage, casting a massive shadow over the battlefield, a colossal white clay dragon circled lazily. Deidara sat cross-legged on the beast's broad back, a manic grin stretching across his face as his singular visible eye locked onto the floating Tsuchikage.

"Old man! Can you feel the heat?" Deidara threw his arms wide, embracing the rising smoke and the screams of the dying below. "This is true beauty! This is what you call art! Art is... an EXPLOSION!"

As his manic laughter echoed across the sky, the mouths on his palms chewed frantically. He hurled a massive, grotesque clay doll over the side of the dragon. The construct expanded rapidly in mid-air, growing to the size of a small mountain as it plummeted toward the earth.

C3: Ohako.

Ōnoki's eyes widened in sheer horror. The blinding light of his Dust Release faded as he aborted the jutsu. That lunatic brat was trying to wipe the entire vanguard off the map.

"Brace yourselves!" Ōnoki roared, his voice cracking with desperation. "All Earth Release shinobi! Defensive formation, now! Earth Release: Golem Technique!"

The battlefield violently quaked. Deep fissures tore through the soil, and a colossal hand made of solid bedrock erupted from the depths. A massive stone golem, standing dozens of meters tall, pulled itself free from the crust of the earth. The titan bent its thick, rocky knees, planting its feet firmly before thrusting its massive arms toward the sky.

A thunderous impact shook the air. The golem's heavy stone palms caught the descending C3 bomb, the sheer weight of the clay explosive grinding the golem's feet deeper into the dirt.

"Did we stop it?" an Iwa ninja gasped, staring up in awe.

High above, Deidara formed a single half-ram seal with his right hand. A glint of pure, unadulterated madness flashed in his eye. "Too naive, old man. My art is not meant for a game of catch." His grin widened into something feral. "Katsu!"

A blinding, incandescent white light bled through the cracks of the clay doll. Then, the world went silent for a fraction of a second before the apocalypse arrived.

A cataclysmic roar tore the sky apart. A towering mushroom cloud of fire and ash violently ascended into the heavens. The sheer kinetic force of the blast vaporized the stone golem's massive arms in an instant, reducing the bedrock to fine dust. A hurricane of scorching air and jagged shrapnel exploded outward, sweeping across the battlefield like a scythe.

"Earth Release: Multiple Earth-Style Wall!" Ōnoki screamed, his hair and beard whipping wildly in the gale-force winds as he slammed his hands together.

All around him, dozens of surviving Iwagakure shinobi mirrored his hand seals, slamming their palms into the trembling earth, desperately pouring every ounce of their chakra into the soil to coordinate with their Kage's defense.

The terrain violently shifted. Massive, thick ramparts of solid rock and packed dirt tore out of the ground, stacking layer upon layer in a towering barricade to shield the front of the Allied Forces.

The shockwave hit a second later. The impact sounded like a mountain collapsing.

The outermost wall shattered instantly, pulverized into gravel. The second wall groaned under the immense pressure, deep spiderweb cracks spreading across its surface before it caved in. The third wall held, but barely. The ground heaved. Shinobi from both Kumo and Iwa cowered behind the remaining barricades, pressing their hands tightly over their bleeding ears. The concussive force rattled their bones, making their internal organs vibrate sickeningly.

Slowly, the roaring winds died down. The thick curtain of black smoke and dust began to thin. The defensive walls at the very front were a ruined, cratered mess, teetering on the absolute brink of collapse. But fortunately, they had held.

Ōnoki hovered a few feet above the ground, his chest heaving violently. Cold sweat dripped from his nose as he struggled to catch his breath, his chakra reserves aching from the strain.

"Oh? You actually managed to block that?" Deidara leaned over the neck of his clay dragon, peering down through the dissipating smoke. He raised an eyebrow, genuinely amused. "It seems the old man's spine has not snapped just yet. However... let us see how you handle this!"

Deidara clapped his hands together.

The clay dragon unhinged its massive jaws. A terrifying barrage of guided clay missiles spewed forth, raining down from the sky like a localized meteor shower. The projectiles streaked through the air, trailing thick plumes of white smoke and emitting high-pitched, ear-piercing shrieks. They dove precisely toward the clusters of allied shinobi who had just begun to breathe a sigh of relief.

"Damn you!" Ōnoki snarled, preparing to launch a counter-offensive.

But his eyes widened as the missiles abruptly shifted their flight paths. Instead of striking the reinforced frontal walls, they banked sharply, weaving around the barricades to strike the exposed flanks of the army.

Explosions ripped through the ranks once more. The Iwa shinobi who had just peeked over the rubble to throw kunai were violently thrown back by the concussive blasts, their bodies ragdolling into the dirt. The massive, overwhelming momentum of the Ninja Allied Forces was completely shattered, pinned down and suppressed by a single madman in the sky.

"You arrogant bastard!" Ay roared, the veins in his neck bulging. His eyes were entirely bloodshot. Lightning violently surged around his body as he bent his knees, preparing to launch himself into the stratosphere to drag the bomber out of the sky with his bare hands.

Suddenly, a suffocating wave of blistering heat swept in from his blind spot. The moisture in the air evaporated instantly, and the temperature spiked to unbearable levels.

"Lava Release: Melting Apparition Technique!"

A massive, churning tidal wave of highly acidic, molten mud surged across the battlefield, cutting off the Raikage's launch trajectory. The viscous liquid bubbled and hissed violently as it ate through the rocky terrain.

Several Kumogakure shinobi, caught off guard by the sudden ambush, failed to retreat in time. The molten mud splashed against their legs. Their protective lightning chakra flickered and died instantly. Horrific, shrill screams pierced the air as the acidic sludge rapidly dissolved their flesh and bone.

"My leg! God, my leg!"

"Someone help me!"

Ay abandoned his assault, kicking off the ground and retreating violently to a high ridge to avoid the expanding pool of acid. He glared through the rising steam.

Standing atop a jagged boulder was a bewitching woman draped in a dark blue, off-the-shoulder dress. Mei Terumi stood with effortless grace, her auburn hair swaying in the heated wind. She parted her ruby lips, the tip of her tongue lightly tracing the corner of her mouth. A dangerously seductive smile played in her eyes.

"Lord Raikage," she purrs, her voice smooth as silk yet laced with lethal intent. "Where are you rushing off to in such a hurry?"

Before the furious Raikage could spit out a response, the sky above them darkened entirely.

"Do not think the party is over just yet!" A booming, heroic laugh rolled across the battlefield like a peal of thunder.

High above the vanguard, a massive plume of white summoning smoke erupted in mid-air. A colossal teal toad, easily the size of a small mountain, plummeted from the heavens. He gripped two massive, deadly short swords in his webbed hands.

The earth literally groaned under the incoming weight.

Gamahiro crashed down directly onto the Allied Forces' right flank. The bedrock shattered, a massive crater forming instantly upon impact. Several unfortunate Kumogakure shinobi were crushed flat beneath the beast's immense bulk, silenced before they could even scream.

The displacement of air sent a wild gale howling across the plains. Standing proudly atop the giant toad's head was Jiraiya. His long, spiky white mane danced wildly in the wind. He stood with his arms crossed over his chest, his usual goofy demeanor entirely absent. His gaze was as sharp and unforgiving as a freshly honed blade. He looked down at the battered, disorganized ranks of the Allied Forces, a cold, disdainful sneer curling the edge of his lips.

"You think you can simply march in and trample Konoha?" Jiraiya's voice projected across the entire battlefield, carrying the heavy, oppressive weight of a legendary Sannin. "You will have to ask this Sage if he allows it first!"

The Ninja Allied Forces, who mere minutes ago had been roaring with bloodlust and absolute certainty of victory, were now pinned down in the dirt, terrified to even raise their heads from their trenches.

Ōnoki stared at the monstrous toad, the melting earth, and the circling dragon above. His wrinkled face contorted into an ugly, grim scowl.

The sheer depth of Konoha's military foundation was truly terrifying.
