(Ramses POV)
We crashed through the dark forest like wounded animals, branches whipping my face and reopening the scratches from the battle.
My bitten leg burned with every step, blood pouring fresh from the puncture wounds and mixing with the dried viscous mucus that still clung to my skin like a second, disgusting layer. The bent horn on my head throbbed in time with my heartbeat, sending sharp jolts through my skull. Behind us, the Likanos howled and roared, their colorful outfits flashing between the trees like nightmare ghosts in the moonlight, my heart kept from me at their shadows but I whipped my head back forward, looking at them would only scare me further.
