He placed the box on the table in front of me, opening the box which smelt like smoke for some reason as if a bomb was contained in it.
He dug his hand into the box bringing out another smaller box made of black glass, the type which I'd never seen before, the light in the room reflected on the tiny glass box, making it almost transparent but not quite.
He opened the box and in it was a rolled paper, an underwhelming surprise, the commander took out the paper and unrolled it but it was blank.
"This is why I summoned you, nothing is written on it " He said, "how come " He quizzed like I would know why.
"It might have been written in a mystery ink " I said, a lot of letters that were written in my tribe were written in those inks ever since we had travellers from other tribes who turned out to be good at snooping.
I stood from the chair moving to get the black wooden cup on top the commander's drawer, it had only a few drops of water, exactly what I needed.
