"Why are you naked?" I say, raising my voice at her so loudly that it echoes in the room.
"I'm sorry I didn't tell you, Ravy," she says, making to sit up from the bed. I move closer to her on the bed, placing my hand on her back to pause her plan of sitting up. I don't need her to do that. All I need is the truth.
"Do you know who this man is?" I yell once more, my nose flaring. I know I am warm from the anger coursing through me. "Ravine, calm down. I can explain," she says, her voice shaky.
"Explain then," I say, raising my eyebrows at her. "He saved me from my husband. He even told me to leave. I'm the one who chose not to leave," she says pathetically. Her voice sounds grating in my ears, like the sound of a rat rummaging for food in the dark.
"This man is a bad person, and I know this because he's my brother-in-law," I say to Thalia. Her reaction is mute, if she has any, like I am not talking to her at all.
