The Hostel Rules:
The boys' and girls' hostels stood just 400 meters apart.
The distance wasn't much…
…but the rules?
Stronger than walls.
After 7:00 PM every Sunday—
no boy or girl was allowed
to even step near the other hostel.
And if someone got caught?
No warnings.
No excuses.
Instant expulsion.
Sunday Evening – 6:45 PM:
Vivan entered the room—
carrying a few essentials from the market.
But the moment he looked ahead—
he froze.
R.V. was sitting calmly… studying—
with a girl.
Vivan's eyes widened in shock.
"R.V.! What is this?!
Do you even realize what time it is?"
"It's almost 7!
If someone sees her here—
all three of us are finished!"
"And she'll be suspended too!"
R.V. immediately got nervous.
"Relax, Vivan…
she's… she's my student—"
Before he could finish—
Anaya elbowed him sharply
and shot him a glare.
R.V. winced.
"Ouch! I mean—
she's my friend… Anaya."
"And Anaya—this is Vivan."
Anaya smiled confidently.
"Hello, Vivan!
I already know who you are."
Vivan crossed his arms.
"If you know that—
then show some respect."
"Call me sir.
I'm from your senior batch."
Anaya tilted her head slightly and replied—
"Oh please…
R.V.'s friend means my friend too."
"And between friends—
this 'sir-ma'am' formality doesn't really suit, right?"
Vivan held his head in disbelief.
"R.V…
this girl is two steps ahead of you."
Then his expression turned serious.
"Forget all this.
Drop her back to the hostel."
"It's getting dark…
and the warden must already be on rounds."
An Unexpected Entry
Just then—
knock knock
The door opened.
Sapna walked in.
"Good evening, R.V. sir!
Good evening, Vivan!"
She looked around the room…
then smiled knowingly.
"Vivan, you said we'd practice peacefully here…"
"…but looks like my crime partner Anaya is already here."
For a moment—
everyone went silent.
And then—
a faint smile spread across their faces.
Even in the tension—
something new was forming.
A bond.
Vivan clapped his hands lightly.
"Alright, enough of this reunion."
"It's almost time for the warden's round."
"Both of you—leave. Now."
"We'll talk tomorrow in college."
Sapna nodded.
After exchanging a quick glance with Anaya—
both girls hurried out of the room.
Time was running out.
On the Way to the Girls' Hostel
Sapna looked at Anaya, half annoyed.
"Are you crazy?
You were calling both seniors by their names
like they're your childhood friends."
Anaya laughed casually.
"What's there to be scared of?"
"R.V. and I are good friends now.
And his friends are my friends too, right?"
"That's why I call them by their names."
Sapna shook her head.
"You're impossible."
A few moments later—
they reached the girls' hostel gate.
And just in time—
they stepped inside safely.
CLANG!
The gate shut behind them.
Locked.
Just two minutes later—
the warden arrived.
That night—
luck was on their side.
But luck…
doesn't stay forever.
What do you think will happen next?
Will they get caught someday?
Or will this friendship turn into something deeper… and dangerous?
Drop your thoughts below—
I'd love to read them.
