Chapter 98 - The Cost of Control

Jessica is on her back, her body covered in David's cum. It's everywhere—on her breasts, her stomach, her thighs. Thick white streaks that glisten under the dim red lights of the chamber. Her blonde hair is matted to her forehead with sweat. Her mascara has run down her cheeks in black rivers. She looks broken. Used. Exhausted.

David is on his knees over her, his cock shoved deep into her mouth. His hips thrust forward in slow, deliberate strokes. Jessica's hands grip his thighs weakly, not pushing him away but not pulling him closer either. Just holding on. Her throat convulses around him with each thrust, her gag reflex long since overwhelmed.

Leena is leaning on David's back, her naked body pressed against his. Her breasts push against his shoulder blades. Her hands reach around, cupping his balls, rolling them gently in her palm. Her lips are on his neck, sucking hard, leaving dark purple hickeys that bloom across his skin like bruises. Her teeth graze his flesh, biting down just enough to make him gasp.

David has cum four times already. This is his fifth. His body is trembling, his muscles twitching with overstimulation. The heart pills have turned him into something primal. Something insatiable. His cock is still hard despite everything, throbbing and aching and desperate for more.

All three of them are hazy. The pills have wrapped their minds in fog, dulling reason, amplifying sensation. Everything feels too much and not enough at the same time.

Leena's breath is hot against David's ear. "How does it feel?" she whispers, her voice low and seductive. "To have two women at once?"

David moans, his hips jerking forward. Jessica gags, her eyes watering. "Good," David gasps. "So fucking good."

Leena smiles against his neck. She sucks harder, leaving another mark. Her hand tightens around his balls, squeezing just enough to make him groan. "I thought you'd like it," she says.

She pauses, her lips still pressed to his skin. Then she speaks again, her tone shifting. Colder. More detached. "Did you know Jessica's father abandoned her mother for a younger woman?"

David's rhythm falters slightly. He glances down at Jessica, but Leena's hand on his balls tightens, pulling his attention back.

"Her mother was devastated," Leena continues, her voice almost conversational. "She became bitter. Abusive. Took all her anger out on Jessica. Beat her. Screamed at her. Told her she was worthless. That she'd end up just like her father—a cheater, a liar, a piece of shit."

Jessica's eyes squeeze shut. Tears leak from the corners, mixing with the mascara already staining her face.

Leena scoffs, as if the next part is funny. "And you know what? Her mother was right. Jessica grew up and married a younger man. Thought she'd found love. Thought she'd escaped the cycle." Leena's lips curl into a cruel smile. "But he left her. Just like her father. Left her with nothing. For a younger woman."

David's breathing is ragged. His cock pulses in Jessica's mouth, and she can taste the salt of his pre-cum mixing with the remnants of his earlier orgasms.

"She was forced to become a prostitute to survive," Leena says. "Had to spread her legs for men she hated just to pay rent. Just to eat. Her hatred for men grew with every client. Every disgusting, sweaty, selfish man who used her body and tossed her aside."

Leena's hand moves from David's balls to his face. She grips his jaw, turning his head toward her. She kisses him deeply, her tongue invading his mouth. When she pulls back, her eyes are dark and gleaming. "That's when I bought this place," she says. "I promised her she'd never have to serve a man again. That she'd be safe. Protected."

She releases his face and reaches down between Jessica's legs. Her fingers slide into Jessica's pussy, still slick with David's cum. Jessica's body jerks, a moan escaping around David's cock. Leena's fingers pump in and out, slow and deliberate, forcing pleasure from Jessica's exhausted body.

"But he's an exception," Leena says, her eyes locked on David's. "Aren't you, David?"

David's hips thrust harder. "Yes," he gasps. "Yes, I'm—fuck—"

Leena's smile widens. She looks down at Jessica, her fingers still working. "Do you like it, David?" she asks. "Do you like making a woman who swore to hate men suck your cock? Do you like watching her take your cum? Knowing she despises every second of it?"

David's breath hitches. His cock throbs, swelling even more. "I love it," he moans. "I fucking love it."

"That's power," Leena says, her voice soft but firm. "That's what I'm giving you. As long as you stay mine, you'll have it. You'll have everything."

She cups his balls again, her fingers gentle but possessive. "Do you still have lingering feelings for Sarah?" she asks.

David doesn't hesitate. "No," he says. "I feel nothing now. Nothing."

Leena's smile is triumphant. "Good," she says. "And would you die for me, David?"

"Yes," David says immediately. His voice is desperate, fervent. "I'd kill for you. I'd die for you. I'd do anything for you."

Leena's fingers tighten around his balls. "Anything?"

"Anything," David repeats.

His body tenses. His cock swells one last time, and then he's cumming. Hard. His orgasm crashes through him in waves, his cum flooding Jessica's mouth. It spills from her lips, dripping down her chin, mixing with the saliva and tears already coating her face.

David's entire body shakes. His hips jerk forward one last time, and then he collapses slightly, his weight pressing into Leena's arms.

Leena stops fingering Jessica. She pulls her hand away, her fingers glistening with cum and wetness. She wipes them on the sheets, her expression satisfied.

"Go shower," Leena says, her voice soft. "I'll meet you there."

David nods weakly. He pulls his cock from Jessica's mouth, and she gasps for air, coughing and sputtering. He climbs off the bed, his legs unsteady. His cock is finally limp, hanging between his legs, slick with saliva and cum. He stumbles toward the bathroom, disappearing through the door.

The room is silent for a moment. Just the sound of Jessica's ragged breathing and the faint hum of the ventilation system.

Leena looks down at Jessica. The woman is still on her back, her body covered in cum, her face a mess of tears and makeup. She looks utterly destroyed.

Jessica's voice is barely a whisper. "I didn't like that."

Leena tilts her head, her expression unreadable.

"I didn't like having to serve him," Jessica continues, her voice trembling. "I didn't like his cum on me. I didn't like sucking his dick. I feel sick."

Leena climbs onto the bed, positioning herself over Jessica. She leans down and kisses her deeply, her tongue sliding into Jessica's mouth. Jessica tastes like cum and salt and desperation. Leena doesn't care. She kisses her harder, her hands cupping Jessica's face.

When she pulls back, her eyes are soft. Almost apologetic. "I'm sorry," she says.

She moves down Jessica's body, her lips trailing over her neck, her collarbone, her breasts. She licks the cum off Jessica's skin, her tongue moving in slow, deliberate strokes. She sucks on Jessica's nipples, her teeth grazing the sensitive flesh, making Jessica gasp.

"It was a necessary sacrifice," Leena says between licks. "To make him completely mine. I needed him for the company. Someone under my total control. Someone who can't betray us."

Jessica's hands grip the sheets. "Please," she whispers. "Please don't make me do that again."

Leena pauses, her lips hovering over Jessica's breast. "I won't," she says. "I promise."

She moves lower, her tongue tracing a line down Jessica's stomach. "I didn't enjoy it either," she says. "Making one of my women look so cheap. But that's what men like. They like to feel like they're in control. They like to see a woman break under them."

Jessica's eyes close. Tears leak from the corners, sliding down her temples. "I hate them," she whispers. "I hate all of them."

"I know," Leena says softly. "I know."

The door to the chamber opens. A woman steps inside, her expression neutral. She's dressed in black—tight pants, a fitted top. One of Leena's enforcers.

"Mistress," the woman says. "We managed to capture Marcus Whitmore."

Leena's head snaps up. Her eyes gleam with something dark and predatory. "Did you?" she says, her voice light. Almost playful.

"Yes, Mistress," the woman says. "He's secured."

Leena smiles. It's a slow, cruel smile. "Toss him in the cage next to Rider's," she says. "I'll have fun with him later."

The woman nods. "Yes, Mistress."

She turns and leaves, the door closing behind her with a soft click.

Leena looks back down at Jessica. The woman is staring at her, her expression unreadable. Leena leans down and kisses her forehead. "Rest," she says. "You've earned it."

She climbs off the bed and walks toward the bathroom, her hips swaying. The sound of the shower is already running. David is waiting for her.

Jessica lies on the bed, staring at the ceiling. Her body aches. Her throat is raw. She can still taste David's cum on her tongue, feel the phantom weight of him in her mouth.

She closes her eyes and tries not to cry.

The hospital room smells like antiseptic and stale air. The fluorescent lights overhead hum softly, casting everything in a harsh, clinical glow. Sarah sits in a chair beside the bed, her hands folded in her lap. Her mother is sleeping, her chest rising and falling in slow, steady breaths. The IV drip in her arm feeds her fluids, the bag hanging from a metal stand beside the bed.

The doctor stands near the door, a clipboard in his hands. He's middle-aged, with graying hair and kind eyes. He looks tired. Overworked. But his expression is gentle as he speaks.

"Her recovery is going well," he says. "The chemo is working. The tumor is shrinking."

Sarah's chest tightens. Relief floods through her, so intense it almost hurts. "That's... that's good," she says, her voice shaky. "That's really good."

The doctor nods. "But she'll need at least six more months of treatment," he continues. "If we stop now, the cancer will return. And it'll come back at full strength."

Sarah's relief evaporates. Six more months. Six more months of watching her mother suffer. Six more months of bills piling up. Six more months of—

"How much will it cost?" Sarah asks, her voice barely above a whisper.

The doctor glances down at his clipboard. "Between sixty and seventy thousand dollars," he says. "But your insurance should cover most of it. You'll only be responsible for the co-pays and deductibles."

Sarah's hands tighten in her lap. "What happens if I lose my insurance?" she asks.

The doctor's expression shifts. Concern flickers across his face. "That wouldn't be good," he says carefully. "You'd have to shoulder the full cost yourself. I wouldn't recommend it."

Sarah's throat is tight. She can feel the tears building behind her eyes, but she forces them back. "Okay," she says. "Thank you."

The doctor steps closer, his hand resting on her shoulder. "Is everything okay at home?" he asks gently.

Sarah looks up at him. His eyes are kind. Concerned. But what can he do? What can anyone do? She forces a smile. "Everything's fine," she lies. "Just... stressed. You know how it is."

The doctor doesn't look convinced, but he nods. "If you need anything," he says, "don't hesitate to reach out. We have resources. Social workers. Financial counselors."

"Thank you," Sarah says again. "Can I... can I be alone with her for a bit?"

"Of course," the doctor says. He squeezes her shoulder gently, then turns and leaves, the door closing softly behind him.

Sarah sits in silence for a moment. The only sound is the hum of the machines, the soft beep of the heart monitor. She looks at her mother, at the way her face is gaunt and pale, at the dark circles under her eyes. She looks so small. So fragile.

Sarah reaches out and takes her mother's hand in both of hers. The skin is thin, papery. She can feel the bones beneath. Her mother's wedding ring is loose on her finger, sliding around when Sarah moves her hand.

A memory flashes through Sarah's mind. She's ten years old, lying in bed with the flu. Her mother is sitting beside her, a cool washcloth pressed to her forehead. Her mother's voice is soft, soothing. "You're going to be okay, sweetheart. I'm right here. I'm not going anywhere."

Sarah's chest tightens. Guilt crashes over her in waves. Her mother sold the house. The car. Even her jewelry. All to pay for the medical bills. All so she wouldn't have to burden her daughter.

When Sarah found out, she'd been furious. She'd told David immediately. And he'd been so reliable then. So steady. He'd held her while she cried, promised her they'd figure it out together. She'd thought they'd be together forever. That she'd be able to show her mother she was right to run away with him. To leave everything behind.

Now she feels like a fool. An absolute fool.

"I'm sorry," Sarah whispers, her voice breaking. "I'm so sorry, Mom."

Her mother doesn't stir. Sarah squeezes her hand tighter, the tears finally spilling over. "I'm sorry," she says again. "I'm so sorry."

Her mother's eyes flutter open. She blinks slowly, her gaze unfocused at first. Then she sees Sarah, and a smile spreads across her face. It's weak, but it's genuine. "Sarah," she says, her voice hoarse. "What's wrong, sweetheart?"

Sarah quickly wipes her tears, forcing a smile. "Nothing," she says. "Nothing's wrong. I'm just... I'm just glad you're okay."

Her mother's smile doesn't fade, but her eyes are knowing. She doesn't believe her. But she lets it slide. "How are you doing? How's that college boy of yours doing?" she asks. "David?"

Sarah's expression turns bitter. She tries to hide it, but she can't. "We're going through a rough patch right now," she says.

Her mother laughs softly. It's a weak sound, but it's warm. "Young couples always bicker," she says. "You'll get over it."

Sarah forces a laugh, but inside, her mind is screaming. There's no way my marriage survives what happened today. No way.

She squeezes her mother's hand again, her smile frozen in place. "Yeah," she says. "We'll get over it."

"That's good," her mother says weakly before her eyes drift closed again, her breathing evening out. Sarah sits there, holding her hand, staring at the wall.

She feels like she's drowning.

Mercer's house is quiet. Too quiet. The kind of quiet that makes every sound feel too loud—the creak of the floorboards, the hum of the refrigerator, the ticking of the clock on the wall.

She's slouched on the couch in nothing but her robe. The fabric is soft, worn. It smells faintly of lavender detergent. Her hair is loose, falling around her shoulders in messy waves. A glass of wine sits on the coffee table in front of her, half-empty. The bottle beside it is nearly gone.

Papers are spread across the table—case files, witness statements, photographs. All related to Jack Morris. She's been going over them for hours, her eyes scanning every detail, looking for something she might have missed. Some angle she hasn't exploited yet.

Her gaze drifts to the photograph on the mantle. It's from her wedding day. She's smiling, her arm linked with her husband's. He's grinning, his eyes bright and full of life. They look so happy. So young.

Mercer's jaw tightens. "I'll avenge you," she whispers. "I promise."

Her phone buzzes on the table. She picks it up, glancing at the screen. Unknown number. She hesitates, then answers. "Mercer."

The voice on the other end is male, clipped and professional. "Ms. Mercer, this is Detective Harlan. I'm calling about the Morris case."

Mercer sits up straighter, her heart rate picking up. "What about it?"

There's a pause. Then: "The witnesses have withdrawn their testimonies."

Mercer's blood runs cold. "What?"

"All of them," Harlan says. "Every single one. They're refusing to testify. Some are claiming they were coerced. Others are just... gone. We can't find them."

Mercer's hand tightens around the phone. "What do you mean, gone?"

"I mean they've disappeared," Harlan says. "No forwarding addresses. No contact information. It's like they vanished."

Mercer's mind races. This can't be happening. Not now. Not when she's so close. "What about the physical evidence?" she asks. "The recordings? The documents?"

"Still intact," Harlan says. "But without the witnesses, it's going to be a lot harder to make the case stick."

Mercer's vision blurs. She can feel the rage building in her chest, hot and suffocating. "This is Jack Morris," she says, her voice shaking. "He's behind this. He has to be."

"We don't have proof of that," Harlan says carefully.

"Of course we don't," Mercer snaps. "Because he's smart. He's always been smart."

There's another pause. "I'm sorry, Ms. Mercer," Harlan says. "I know how much this case means to you."

Mercer doesn't respond. She hangs up, her hand trembling. She stares at the phone for a long moment, her mind spinning.

Then she screams.

The sound echoes through the empty house, raw and furious. She throws the phone across the room. It hits the wall and clatters to the floor.

Mercer sits there, her chest heaving, her hands shaking. She looks at the photograph on the mantle again. At her husband's smiling face.

"I'll get him," she whispers. "I swear to God, I'll get him."

But even as she says it, she can feel the doubt creeping in. The fear that maybe, just maybe, Jack Morris is untouchable.

She picks up her wine glass and drains it in one gulp.

The room is silent again.
