Lucan saw his desk messed up, full of disorganized scientific theories and papers.
With a heavy sigh, he gathered them together properly and placed them in a file, along with his laptop and other stuff.
He packed them off to work!
After putting on his shoes, he waved goodbye to Lana. "Bye baby, I'm off to work!"
She walked over and frowned at him. "Not yet..."
He was confused as he thought, "What... damn, did I do something wrong for her to act this way? Hmm... let me calculate!"
The cosmos watching this laughed. "Same same, but different, hehe."
She snorted as she handed over his bag to him. "Still in a daze? You forgot your bag! Oh my gosh!"
He sighed in relief, thinking, "Phew! Nothing worse, just as I had calculated."
She replied, "Let me guess: 'Thank God nothing happened according to my calculations,' right, Luc? Hehe."
He froze still with a stunned expression on his face. "How..."
The cosmos was also amazed. "How... Earthlings know about cosmic energy! Impossible..."
She smirked. "I have been studying psychology recently, hehe. It's as worthy as I expected it to be."
Lucan waved goodbye as he left through the door. "That's all, huh... damn this psychology! It almost stopped my heartbeat!"
The cosmos frowned. "What's psychology? A new power system? Hmm, should I use my powers... I can get answers in no time! ..."
After pondering for a long duration of time, it rejected its earlier thoughts. "No! It would be a spoiler and ruin the excitement of the show! Hmm, I have to completely disable all of my powers except for Endless Eyes!"
Endless Eyes is one of the abilities of the cosmos to see an infinite amount of visions for any duration of time.
Using this ability, the cosmos binges through the lives of the people it considers a show!
After finishing his work, Lucan went back to his home, where all the lights were off. Suddenly, as soon as he entered, the lights turned on.
Lots of people surprised him, and his eyes widened. "What..."
The cosmos frowned. "Hmm... humans! They are far more complex than I had thought. Damn it, and I still don't understand this thing called psychology!"
Lana hugged him from behind. "Luc... you got promoted to international-level space research! It's a surprise party for you, honey!"
Lucan grinned as he kissed her gently on the cheek.
Aric walked in—that one kid whose gang had once invited him during his childhood.
He laughed, "Lucan... it's also a reunion! Hahaha! Although, I suppose, have you forgiven us?"
The nerd from his childhood was also there, holding his head down from the guilt of his past actions.
Almost all of his classmates were hanging their heads down because they had mocked him and laughed at him when he spoke about his goals during his childhood.
The cosmos nodded. "I see... a few actions remain the same after the reset."
Lucan walked over to that nerd kid. Lana hesitated, "No... Luc... don't hit him..."
Aric sighed, "Well, it was our fault, and we deserve the punishment!"
But strangely, Lucan hugged him. "Hehe, forgiveness is the greatest punishment one could grant as revenge! Kindness is the greatest human virtue! I have learned all this from you... my dear... Lana!"
She cried tears of joy. "Luc... hehe, I really love you so much! Please tell me you will never leave me behind."
He replied, "I swear on my goal, Lana! I would never do so!"
Both of them exchanged gazes as Aric laughed, "This is supposed to be his promotion party and a gang reunion! This isn't your date! For heaven's sake, stop it! Ugh."
Another boy who was part of the gang mocked, "Aric is just pissed that he doesn't have a girlfriend, lol!"
Aric's face turned red from embarrassment as he turned to face that boy with a creepy grin. "It seems somebody wants to taste death, huh?"
As the events passed by, the cosmos was watching with a stunned expression.
It saw different emotions running through humans, which made them more human.
It had never seen any other aliens have such drastic and beautiful reactions...
It said in a mild tone, "Emotions... wow! I wish humans would defeat the aliens and assert their dominance, hehe... Humans! You are the heroes of the show, I'm rooting for you! Hehe, the reset was really the right decision... Wait! If the genius mastermind Lucan himself is like this, then Lord..."
On the space station—newly rebuilt!
Lord was the leader of this entire space station.
Followed by him were the elites of the space station:
Azican
Artlan
Erline
Valkerine
Gerin
Freol
Kaol
Celestia
All of them stood beside him in a long column. In between them was a paved walkway where Lord walked over.
He sighed, "This is too grand for someone like me! Instead of wasting this, you could've helped a lot of people. Sigh, when will you all learn!"
The cosmos stared at him. He was exactly the same Lord it had already met and known about.
It started laughing. "Lord! You are Lord? Damn, it took me a while to recognize you, hehe. 'Pride,' you said! The Pride Crystal would be gloomy and horrified to see you like this! Hahaha..."
Azican frowned. "Lord! You must at least have some sense of pride! You are too humble... have some dignity at least."
Lord shook his head. "Pride is something nobody must possess; it's a deadly sin! I would never commit such a sin."
From a distance, two figures watching the events frowned deeply.
One of them spoke, "What has happened to my world! This isn't Lord. Am I tripping or what? Life, Death—where are they?"
Another one spoke, "Hush... I am more vexed than you. Wait! Let's have a look at one more person. If he also acts weird, then it must be what happened!"
The other figure asked, "What happened? Come on, tell me!"
It shook its head. "I hope my deductions are wrong. If it has happened, then it's truly hopeless for both of us!"
A wave of silence flowed throughout the atmosphere.
Soon, it was broken by the other figure. "Okay, let's go and watch him! That one person you spoke about... who is he? And where is he?"
The figure's eyes glowed brightly. "Lucan... he's not in this solar system! Which means he must be on Earth. Let's go, we have to be quick!"
The cosmos was taken aback. "Who are these two people? The reset hasn't affected either of them! This is impossible! Nobody could've escaped it! It would take no time at all for me to erase them and find out the secret! But... damn, it would also spoil the show! I can't let it happen, umm..."
The two figures appeared somewhere in a mysterious landscape, where a creature was waiting for them...
It was dazzling in bright golden-yellow light, with beautiful flapping wings!
A gold trail was left behind on the ground after each flap, making the creature so attractive and cute.
It was the golden butterfly!
Seeing the golden butterfly, both figures were in a daze.
One spoke, "Although I am witnessing the sight for real, with my very own eyes, I can't believe it!"
Another one nodded, "Yes, but bro, you gotta believe it! She's the one who could actually help us!"
The golden butterfly brought both of them into the white room.
A paper and a golden pen were right in front of them.
Letters appeared over them one by one in a golden-yellow color:
'DID YOU FIND LUCAN?'
One of the figures spoke, "No! We didn't, but we found out a lot of other things..."
The other figure smacked him on the head. "Idiot! You are supposed to write it on the paper with that pen. And shut your freaking mouth! Let me handle things my way."
Saying so, he grabbed the pen and started writing on the paper.
He wrote the following:
'Yes, we did find him, but he's on Earth, and unfortunately, we can't teleport there as it is a part of another solar system!'
The words slowly disappeared as the golden butterfly read them...
Suddenly, new letters reappeared over them:
'Earth, hehe, thank you! Our next destination is Earth... Lucan! I am coming, don't worry!'
