Chapter 83 - Chapter 83: Effectiveness of the Rainbow Orb?

A 3D distribution map of human muscle tissue appeared on the computer screen. With the help of Lulu's psychic stimulation to make the cells more active, the calculated data became even more precise.

Cell Activity: 1.15!

Muscle Strength: 3.12!

Compared to three hours ago, his Cell Activity had increased by 0.01, and his Muscle Strength had risen by 0.02. This level of improvement would have previously required Hisoka to undergo roughly two months of high-intensity training to achieve.

Yet now, in just three hours, he had imperceptibly gained the results of two months of grueling exercise.

"Unbelievable, simply unbelievable!"

Hisoka marveled as he cradled the Rainbow Orb. At first, he thought it was merely some undiscovered mystical item; he never expected it to have such a direct impact on the human body.

The energy radiation emitted by the Rainbow Orb was immensely beneficial to humans. If he lived with it by his side long enough, Hisoka felt it wasn't impossible that he might wake up one day as a literal superman.

Hisoka could now draw a firm conclusion: the reason this black Rhydon had grown so massive without any physical deformities was entirely due to the energy radiation of the Rainbow Orb.

The orb's energy radiation likely had an even greater effect on Pokémon than on humans.

His curiosity was now completely piqued. Never had Hisoka felt such a sense of urgency. He desperately wanted to know everything about this Rainbow Orb and whether any other lucky souls in the human world had ever obtained one.

Why had he never heard of it before? Why was there nothing like it in the Encyclopedia of Pokémon Items?

With this gnawing curiosity, Hisoka sighed and lay back on a soft mat. He rested his hands behind his head and gazed up at the star-studded sky. Humans were so small; there were still so many incredible things and places in this world and this universe left to discover.

One day, he would travel across the entire world... to explore ancient ruins ten thousand years old, to gaze upon the Primordial Sea from millions of years ago, and to visit the legendary Meteorite Continent.

The mournful cries of the Rhydon echoed through the depths of the forest for almost the entire night. From its initial roars of fury to its morning whimpers, the Rhydon's emotional journey made Hisoka, the culprit, feel a bit guilty.

But he definitely wasn't giving it back!

Hisoka thought this as he stood on the high cliff, observing the Rhydon's movements through a pair of binoculars.

As dawn broke, the Rhydon returned to the beach. Its treasure was gone, and the cave it had grown up in no longer felt like home. It had no family and no companions. Aside from some Pidgey, there were no other Pokémon on the island.

The morning sun began to rise slowly from the far end of the horizon, and a warm sea breeze began to brush against the sand and the coconut groves.

At this moment, the Rhydon felt an abyss of loneliness. It had always lived alone, never knowing its parents. From the moment it hatched from its egg, it had eaten alone and slept alone. Now, even the treasure that had always accompanied it was gone...

"It's gone!" The more it thought, the sadder the Rhydon became. Gradually, pea-sized tears welled up and began to drip-drop onto the sand.

"The big guy is actually crying."

Hisoka, watching through the binoculars, was dumbstruck. He wasn't seeing things; a giant Rhydon over four meters tall was actually weeping on the beach. The sight was surreal.

Pokémon were indeed high-intelligence creatures with rich emotions no different from humans. Just the previous afternoon, this giant Rhydon looked like it wanted to destroy the world in its rage, yet now it seemed more like a poor child crying over a lost toy.

"The big guy looks so pitiful." Lulu used her Confusion to float herself next to Hisoka and sat on his shoulder. Using Telepathy, she said, "We stole the big guy's treasure. Was that wrong of us?"

"Ahem..." Hisoka lowered his binoculars awkwardly. He lifted Lulu down from his shoulder, looked her in the eye, and said seriously, "It wasn't stealing. It's just like what we did in Viridian Forestwe discovered a treasure and went in to retrieve it. That's all. Understand?"

"Lulu understands!"

The little girl said it with her mouth, but she rolled her eyes in her heart. She wasn't a child anymore; Hisoka was really something, using an excuse like that on her.

As the Rhydon cried, its stomach began to growl. It was hungry again. Because its treasure had vanished yesterday, it had lost its mind and used its skills to go on a destructive rampage, consuming a vast amount of energy and physical strength.

The treasure was gone, and it couldn't find it. But the hunger was an immediate problem; it had to fill its stomach first.

The Rhydon's simple, youthful mind immediately cast aside its depression. It stood up from the beach and strode toward the ocean with heavy steps.

Using the same fishing method as yesterday, the Rhydon struck the surface of the water with its massive tail, reinforcing it with the Iron Tail skill. The violent impact against the seawater sent out shockwaves to stun the fish below.

Unfortunately, after yesterday's feeding frenzy, the fish and shrimp in this area had either died or fled. It had only been a short while, and the big guy was already back. The problem was its stubbornness; it refused to move to a different spot.

In truth, this was Hisoka's fault. Previously, the Rhydon would sleep for four or five days after a full meal. This buffer period allowed the fish to return and fill the area, waiting for the Rhydon's next hunt.

This cycle had continued for years until Hisoka, the uninvited guest, arrived and broke the loop.

But the Rhydon didn't understand that. It kept swinging its tail, striking the water until it was breathless and panting, yet very few fish or shrimp floated to the surface.

After consuming every last scrap it could find, the Rhydon felt even hungrier. Its crude fishing method had exhausted more energy than the meager catch could replace.
