To be honest, Ash had always kept Brock's future in the back of his mind.
Brock really needed to find a partner.
The reason was simple.
Ever since they entered the tea party, Brock had met four beautiful older women, and every single time he reacted the exact same way.
"My heart has been pierced by Cupid's arrow! You're so beautiful!"
It was the same line over and over again.
Ash felt that he really ought to help Brock find someone someday. Otherwise, even he was starting to feel embarrassed just standing next to him.
Fortunately, once they reached the main hall, Brock finally settled down a bit.
"Misty, how do you like my sister's tea?" Sakura asked as she walked in.
"So she's your sister?" Misty exclaimed in surprise.
Ash, on the other hand, had already guessed as much.
Instead, he quietly glanced at Brock, eagerly waiting to see his reaction when all four sisters appeared together.
"I'm the eldest sister. My name is Satsuki," the elegant woman introduced herself.
"But it's not just me. I have three other sisters."
Just then, the other three women they had met earlier entered one after another.
The woman in the light green kimono smiled.
"I'm the second sister, Sumomo."
The woman in the yellow kimono followed.
"I'm the third sister, Tamao."
Finally, the woman in the sky blue kimono bowed gracefully.
"I'm the fourth sister, Kome."
The corners of Ash's mouth twitched upward as he desperately tried to hold back his laughter.
Meanwhile, Brock looked like he was on the verge of tears.
"So... all those beautiful ladies... are sisters?"
His entire world seemed to collapse.
Sumomo looked at Brock with a smile.
"I know you. You're the one who said I was the most beautiful."
"Really?" Satsuki blinked. "He said the same thing to me."
"He told me that too," Tamao added.
"Me as well," Kome chimed in.
"Pfft!"
At that point, Ash completely lost it.
The sip of tea he had just taken sprayed out of his mouth.
Fortunately, he had instinctively turned toward the doorway, so he didn't make a mess inside the room.
"Hahaha... S-sorry. I just thought of something really funny and couldn't hold it in. If that was rude of me... I apologize..."
Even after saying that, Ash had to cover his mouth as he continued laughing to himself.
"Brock... honestly..." Misty sighed, utterly exhausted.
"Is complimenting people really a crime?" Brock muttered as he crouched in the corner, absentmindedly drawing circles on the floor.
"It's not the compliments. It's the way you say them. If you'd tried that with someone else, you'd probably have gotten punched."
"We're the famous Eevee Sisters of Ecruteak City!"
"There are five of us," Sakura quietly corrected. "We're the Eevee Five Sisters."
"No, it's the Four Sisters... plus the extra one."
"That introduction sounds awfully familiar," Brock suddenly remarked. "Wait... aren't the Cerulean Gym sisters the same? They always introduce themselves as the three sisters, and say Misty just comes along for the ride... Ow!"
Before he could finish, Misty's fist slammed into his head.
A huge lump immediately formed where she'd hit him.
"So you're the youngest sister too?" Sakura said happily to Misty. "Just like me!"
The two girls immediately wandered off together, chatting cheerfully.
Meanwhile, Ash began thinking about something else.
Even in his previous life, the Eevee Five Sisters had been quite well known.
But the more he thought about it, the stranger it seemed.
How could an ordinary family own five Eevee?
That was far too unusual.
Ash couldn't help but suspect that their family must have had a special connection with Eevee that went back generations.
Earlier, before entering the house, Ash had released Houndour and Alakazam, then called Pikachu over.
"You three, find Team Rocket. Give them a good beating, then chase them off."
The three Pokémon nodded and set off immediately.
"Oh?" Sumomo wasn't put off by Ash's polite attitude. "Go ahead. What's your question?"
"What's your family's connection to Eevee?"
Sumomo and her three sisters froze for a moment before exchanging glances.
Finally, Sumomo answered, "I can't tell you directly, but I can say this. Our family definitely has a connection with Eevee. As for what that connection is, you'll have to figure it out yourself."
"I see..."
Ash fell into thought for a moment before continuing.
"By the way, when Sakura first met us, she mentioned that she wanted to travel with us. But she's still too dependent on others. As her older sisters, I doubt you'd agree to let her go."
"So... would you help me put on a little act later?"
Ash then explained his plan.
The four sisters nodded.
"That we can do. We'll cooperate as best we can. Just don't go overboard."
"Don't worry. I know where to draw the line. I just want Sakura to realize a few things."
Before long, Pikachu and the others returned.
They had successfully driven Team Rocket away, ensuring there would be no interruptions.
Meanwhile, Misty brought up Sakura's wish to travel with them, just as planned, after the dance performance the following day.
The next day, all five sisters performed together.
The only flaw was that Sakura made a small mistake during the dance, but it wasn't anything serious.
After the performance, Sakura finally voiced her desire to leave on a journey.
Following Ash's plan, the four sisters refused.
Instead, they declared that only a Pokémon battle could determine whether they would allow it.
The match was a three on three battle.
Ash won his battle.
Misty won hers as well.
Just as Brock was about to step forward for the deciding match, Sakura suddenly spoke.
"Wait... Sisters..."
"I've decided not to go traveling."
"I understand now. There are many things I simply can't accomplish on my own. Even if all of you took care of me during the journey, I'd still have to fight my own battles."
"If I traveled with them now, I'd only hold everyone back."
"So... I'll wait until I've become stronger before setting out on my own journey."
"You finally understand, Sakura."
"Mm. And thank you, Misty and everyone else, for being willing to battle on my behalf."
"It was nothing," Misty replied with a smile. "Now that everything's settled, it's time for us to continue our journey."
"Please wait."
The eldest sister, Satsuki, turned and walked into the house.
A moment later, she returned carrying a Pokémon Egg.
"Thank you for helping us resolve this matter. As a token of our gratitude, we'd like you to accept this Egg."
She handed it to Ash and gave him a subtle wink.
Ash immediately understood what she meant.
"Thank you. I'll take good care of this Egg."
"Oh, and Sakura," Ash added, "your Eevee can evolve into Espeon. If you do that, you'll truly become the Eevee Five Sisters."
"I'll do my best. Thank you, Ash."
With that, Ash and his friends continued toward their next destination.
"Ash, this Pokémon Egg..." Misty asked curiously.
"There's a ninety percent chance it's an Eevee."
The pattern on the Egg made Ash understand everything instantly.
Once the little one hatches... I'll raise it as a partner Pokémon.
