Raya's POV.
"Step away from the door," I stated, my voice voice stern and confident.
He froze without looking back, then tightening his hands on the handle. My pulse thudded loud in my ears as I waited to see if he would actually listen or force my hand.
"Step away from the door or I'll call the guards right now." I repeated. "This is a restricted area, you are not supposed to be here,"
"This whole place is restricted, Miss Raya. You can't tell me where I'm supposed to be," he voiced, finally turning to face me.
"Are you planning on killing us all," my eyes circled on the key. He glanced at his right hand and chuckled.
"What would I gain from killing you? You think I'm a psychopath?" He asked and snickered to himself.
"I don't know what to believe but I am not letting you go through that door with the key." I replied. The key felt heavier in my palm than it had any right to, like it carried the weight of everything I still needed to protect.
