In the remaining days, Chen Yang spent a certain amount of time each day refining pills and then went to the Mittel Family to accompany Ya Fei.
Ya Fei did not try to make him stay when she learned Chen Yang was leaving the Jia Ma Empire, just as she had seen him off when he left Wutan City.
During these few days, she simply exerted all her oral skills whenever Chen Yang needed her, allowing him to experience the greatest pleasure of Riding.
Xiao Yi Xian also knew Chen Yang was leaving, so she didn't cling to him.
In the blink of an eye, six days passed.
On this day, Medusa, who had been away for several days, appeared in Chen Yang's small courtyard in the Xiao Family while he was refining medicine.
"I thought you'd never come back?" Chen Yang replied with a smile while refining medicine.
"This Queen is not such an untrustworthy person," Medusa glanced at Chen Yang and said indifferently.
"Eh? Do I have an agreement with you?" Chen Yang didn't remember having any agreement with Medusa.
"This Queen naturally has no agreement with you. I only promised the Sky Swallowing Python that after handling the affairs of the Snake-People Tribe, I would let it continue to accompany you!" A trace of unnaturalness flashed across Medusa's cold face, yet she still spoke with a haughty air.
With his Soul Power at the Middle Spirit Realm, Chen Yang naturally wouldn't fail to notice Medusa's abnormality. He shook his head and continued to focus on refining medicine.
Two and a half hours later, as a pillar of light shot into the sky, a seventh-grade low-rank Medicinal Pill exclusive to Yun Yun was successfully produced. With a wave of his hand, he put away the pill and pulled a medicine bottle from his storage ring, tossing it to Medusa.
"What is this?" Medusa asked in confusion.
"A top-tier sixth-grade spirit fusing pill, comparable to a seventh-grade one. It can perfectly fuse your body with the Sky Swallowing Python's, but without causing the Sky Swallowing Python's Soul to vanish," Chen Yang said casually.
"This..." Medusa looked at the medicine bottle in her hand, a flash of gratitude in her heart. She was about to say thanks but suddenly asked, "If the Sky Swallowing Python's Soul doesn't vanish, where will it live?"
Chen Yang shrugged: "I wouldn't know. Perhaps, if you give birth to a little Medusa in the future, it can be born as a companion Spirit Beast?"
The effect of this pill really was like that, but Chen Yang just didn't tell Medusa directly.
"Whoosh!" Medusa's pretty face instantly flushed red. A long sword unsheathed with a clang and pointed at Chen Yang as she shouted in shame and anger, "Human, you dare to tease this Queen? Do you think this Queen cannot defeat you?"
Chen Yang shrugged: "Otherwise?"
Medusa was instantly exasperated. She wanted to be stubborn, but remembering Chen Yang crushing that Five-Star Dou Zong level Protector Wu with a single finger on Yun Lan Mountain, she snorted and put away her sword.
"This Queen accepts the pill, but I don't want to owe you anything!" With that, Medusa took five storage rings from her bosom and threw them to Chen Yang. "Inside are high-grade medicinal herbs collected by the Snake-People Tribe over the years. Consider it as this Queen buying this pill from you."
"Eh?" Reaching out to catch the five storage rings, Chen Yang scanned them with his Soul Power and then looked up at Medusa in shock.
"I say, Your Majesty, although my pill is precious, the value of these herbs is enough to buy hundreds of such pills!" Among the herbs in these five storage rings, there were over thirty that could serve as the main ingredient for seventh-grade pills, and even five or six herbs that fell into Chen Yang's knowledge blind spot, which were very likely herbs for refining Eighth Grade Pills. Their preciousness was naturally self-evident.
"If you don't want them, give them back to this Queen, and I'll burn them!" Medusa snorted, making a move as if to snatch the storage rings back from Chen Yang's hand.
Chen Yang hurriedly tucked them into his robe and looked at Medusa warily. Medusa gave Chen Yang a sidelong glance, her enchanting appearance causing Chen Yang to daze for a moment.
Seeing Chen Yang's gaze, Medusa glared at him fiercely again, then turned around to study the pill in her hand.
"Ahem..." Snapping out of it, Chen Yang coughed lightly, his expression softening.
Although these herbs had accumulated because the Snake-People Tribe had no Alchemists, these things were still a deep foundation for the tribe. This silly woman Medusa had actually given them all to him.
If there weren't some other reason behind this, he wouldn't believe it for a second.
But since the Queen liked this kind of dynamic, he'd play along with this beautiful snake; he was free anyway.
"Then, many thanks, Your Majesty!" Chen Yang said with a smile.
"This is just a fair trade between this Queen and you!" Medusa remained stubborn.
Chen Yang just smiled and then reminded her: "After taking this spirit fusing pill, it takes about half a year to perfectly fuse. During this period, you will still exist in your original form."
Medusa nodded upon hearing this, thought for a moment, and said: "Then during the time this Queen is fusing with the Sky Swallowing Python's body, I will continue to stay by your side. If you protect me well, I'll consider it aning you a favor!"
Chen Yang nodded with a smile and then reached out his hand toward Medusa.
Medusa bit her lip, gave Chen Yang a glare of shame and indignation, opened the medicine bottle to swallow the pill, then transformed back into the Sky Swallowing Python. She turned into a streak of light and dove into Chen Yang's sleeve, followed by a voice of shame and annoyance: "Human, if you dare to secretly kiss this Queen again, I will give your arm a nasty bite!"
Chen Yang gave a small smile, reached out to pat Medusa's original form in his sleeve, and then walked toward the gate with a flick of his sleeve!
"Human, you actually dare not to answer this Queen, you..."
"If Your Majesty isn't well-behaved, don't blame me for throwing you away!"
"You... you dare to threaten this Queen, do you think I was raised on sca... Humph, I just won't bite you, fine..."
Seeing that Chen Yang really was going to throw her away, Medusa stiffly changed her tune.
"Then there's naturally no problem!" Chen Yang chuckled.
Medusa secretly cursed Chen Yang as her Soul gradually fell into a slumber to fuse with the body. Meanwhile, the Sky Swallowing Python's Soul temporarily took over, swimming out of Chen Yang's sleeve and onto his shoulder, making whimpering sounds, looking extremely aggrieved.
"Don't worry, you won't disappear. Once I've conquered that beautiful snake, you'll be able to have a body again, and I guarantee it will be even more powerful than this one!" Chen Yang reached out and tapped the Sky Swallowing Python's forehead, saying with a smile.
"Ying ying ying..." Hearing this, the Sky Swallowing Python darted back and forth happily in front of Chen Yang, incredibly joyful.
Well... what bad intentions could a little snake have? She just really liked being with her master.
However, what Chen Yang didn't know was that although Medusa's Soul was slumbering, it still retained a sliver of faint consciousness. Chen Yang's words about 'conquering the beautiful snake' were heard by her in their entirety.
"Abominable human..."
