The doorbell downstairs rang several times. Yara Quillan wondered why Henry Lester wasn't down there, but she went to get the door anyway.
It wasn't until the man walked in and took off his sunglasses that Yara Quillan finally recognized him. She let out a cry of delight and lunged at him. "Shane Lowell, you son of a bitch! When did you get back? Still so stone-faced!"
Cian Lowell sidestepped, dodging Yara Quillan's attack. He shot her an impatient glance and demanded, "Wildcat, where's the boss?"
"Damn, we haven't seen each other in years, and this is the attitude I get?" Yara Quillan bristled. Of everyone she knew, Cian Lowell was the only one she cursed out on sight. For some reason, successfully pissing him off brought her a unique sense of accomplishment.
'That guy is so stone-faced, with that cold expression all year round, like the whole world owes him something.'
