Scott Sterling rolled his eyes and forced his eyelids open.
He dazedly licked his lips and stared at Gina Gable, who was right in front of him. "Why are you crying, you foolish woman?" he teased weakly.
Gina Gable pouted, letting go of Scott Sterling's eyelids. Ignoring him, she looked at Thornton the Wizard. "Does this mean he can be saved?"
Thornton the Wizard put away the flower and took out a small white medicine bottle, handing it to Holly Wyatt. "He needs to take this once an hour for two days. Whether he lives or dies... well, we'll see if he's got what it takes to pull through."
Only then did Scott Sterling notice Thornton the Wizard and Holly Wyatt standing by the bed. He shook his head, scrambled into a sitting position, and elegantly licked his paw. "It's useless. You know that too, don't you, Thornton the Wizard? No one has ever survived a contract backlash."
