The members of the Sun Family prostrated themselves on the ground, scarcely daring to breathe.
They all understood that Sun Jiaping was the patriarch's most beloved grandson. Now that he had been murdered, the old man was bound to erupt in fury.
"Shihai, Jiaping was murdered. You have gravely failed in your duty as his father!" Sun Zhen trembled with rage.
"Father, I am heartbroken as well," Sun Shihai sobbed, a mess of snot and tears as he slammed his forehead hard against the ground.
Sun Zhen showed him no pity, letting him continue to strike his head on the floor.
"When your younger brother found me, he told me that the woman from that pair of scoundrels came to our Sun Family to stir up trouble, killing seven direct members of our clan. She even boasted that she would pay us another visit in seven days. Tomorrow is the appointed day, is it not?" Sun Zhen's face was a deathly mask.
"Yes, yes, that's exactly what happened."
