In a car crash fifteen years ago, Willow West suffered a severe head injury and lost all her memories from before that day.
When she woke up, she was in an orphanage.
The crash had left Ian in a vegetative state.
Not long after, Melanie Ulrich came to the orphanage and adopted Willow West.
She took Ian with them as well.
For a while, Willow West was plagued by nightmares.
In her dreams, she and Ian were always playing in a vast manor.
Ian would ride a bicycle with her on the back.
The manor was huge and filled with gardenias.
Every June, the gardenias would bloom, a sea of large white flowers.
Willow West had grown up playing in that fragrant manor.
But one night, that fragrant sea of white flowers turned a crimson red.
That red morphed into tongues of fire that devoured the entire manor.
Willow West remembered the car speeding along, the world a blur outside the window!
