"Caden, I..." Seraphina looked up at the man beside her, about to say something, but he cut her off.
"I'll go with you, Gwen." His simple words, devoid of doubt or objection, warmed Seraphina's heart.
Caden's dark eyes flickered with heartache as he looked at her pale face, but his words remained as supportive as ever.
He knew what was important to her. He wouldn't stop her, but his one condition was that he had to be by her side.
Seraphina's grave expression finally softened, a faint smile gracing her lips. "Okay."
"Seraphina, what are you doing back here?" Trudy's small form zipped over. It seemed to have been injured while breaking the Barrier, as it wasn't moving as fast as usual.
Seraphina looked down at Trudy. "Trudy, you're just in time. Help me activate the Forbidden Technique and send me to my mother."
