The teacher was startled to hear a student say his father had been in a car accident.
She quickly asked about the situation, then comforted the boy. "Don't panic. Hurry to the hospital. I'll write you a leave slip. Call me if anything comes up."
The teacher scribbled out the leave slip and handed it to him. "Go on, hurry."
The boy bowed. "Thank you, ma'am!"
Then, leave slip in hand, he turned and walked out.
The moment his foot crossed the office threshold, the sorrow on the boy's face instantly vanished, replaced by a wide grin.
He pulled out his phone and made a call as he walked. "The teacher approved it. See you at the internet cafe by the entrance. We're doing a five-on-five later. I'm gonna fucking wreck those guys today."
