"Bai Xi, it's so good to see you escaped. Join the Du Family, and I can protect you both." Du Yao stepped forward excitedly, reaching for Bai Xi's hand.
Bai Chen controlled the shadow Bai Xi, making her take a step back.
"My family is still inside the high walls. I have to be with them," the shadow Bai Xi said.
Du Yao's expression turned sorrowful and grave. "I can only protect you two. As for the people inside the high walls... the higher-ups won't let them out."
"Even if they survive the zombie siege, high-yield weapons will be launched afterward to raze the entire area to the ground."
The sheer amount of information packed into that short statement shocked both Bai Chen and Bai Xi.
The shadow Bai Xi asked, "If they can raze it to the ground, why not evacuate the people first?"
