Evelyn Grant subconsciously furrowed her brow and gritted her teeth.
Ryan Sterling immediately sensed something was wrong and quickly asked, "What is it?"
"N-nothing's wrong!" Afraid of worrying him while he was abroad, Evelyn Grant quickly pretended everything was fine. "Um, you go ahead and get back to work. I'm going to take a shower! I'll text you when I get out."
'Maybe I just ate a little too much,' she thought. 'That must be why I feel this way. It'll probably go away after a little while.'
"Okay. Be careful in the bathroom. Don't slip."
"Don't worry, I'm not a child."
After hanging up, Evelyn Grant stood there and pursed her lips.
The pain didn't seem as sharp as it had a moment ago. 'Could it be... just a sudden cramp?'
