To Alex Grant, the title "brother-in-law" now sounded rather ironic.
He hadn't wanted to say anything, really. After all, the Sterling and Grant families had once been on good terms. Alex even remembered Julian buying him snacks when he was just a kid.
But—
But none of that mattered when compared to how Julian had mistreated his sister.
"Julian, I don't think I should... call you brother-in-law anymore, should I? I think it's better if I just keep calling you Julian."
That one sentence made Julian realize that Evelyn had definitely told her brother about the divorce.
"Evelyn actually told you?! Isn't she afraid—"
"Is it because you thought she'd be afraid? You knew our mother's health is poor and that I'm swamped with my studies, so you figured you could mistreat my sister without any consequences, right?" The question seemed to tear a hole in his composure.
Once something is broken open, it can't be held back any longer.
