Milo Irving didn't seem surprised that Summer Thorne had followed him in. In fact, his dismissive attitude was even more pronounced than before.
Surprisingly, however, Summer Thorne didn't say anything more to him. She simply smiled, set down the pack of cigarettes, and walked away.
In the vast banquet hall, guests mingled in small groups, chatting and laughing. Summer Thorne didn't know anyone, and she wasn't bold enough to simply join a conversation, so she walked straight toward the floor-to-ceiling windows.
As she turned, she once again passed by the small group that included Timothy York and Elliot Quinn.
Summer Thorne didn't spare them a glance, nor did she pause.
Timothy York's gaze, however, just as it had when she first walked past, remained fixed on her, following her across the room.
Elliot Quinn, standing beside him, keenly sensed something and couldn't help but ask, "That Miss Thorne is from Valois. Do you know her?"
