Chapter 7 - Everybody Lie 7

'Good heavens! I cannot believe I am so hungry right now...' while House walked, he placed his hand on his stomach and complained inside.

The energy he is spending just to maintain a physical illusion has started to sink into his resources. House fears that if he does not eat something now his body will start eating itself and will not take long to faint.

'There is no one, perhaps I should take advantage and cancel the illusion and save energy' House upon turning in a hallway noticed it was empty. Strange in a hospital but he did not think too much about it.

A glow covered House's body, the glow seemed ghostly since in reality it did not illuminate the surrounding area nor generate shadows.

But there was something House did not contemplate.

"Shit!" a voice with a sweet bell tone was heard in the lonely hallway.

tac, tac, tac a couple of hurried steps were heard behind the small blonde girl who had just appeared in the hallway.

"Here!" House looked toward a side and saw a service door. Pushing it without thinking he entered the door to close it behind him quickly but without making much noise.

The room is a storage with blankets, pillows, hospital patient gowns and other medical resources and needs.

"I did not think about this..." House, now with Renelle's gaze murmured with annoyance upon seeing his body reduced now in size causing his men's clothing to now look baggy.

Renelle looked at the gowns around her arranged on shelves as well as blankets and other things and stayed thinking what to do.

At this moment, outside in the hallway.

"House?

How did he disappear so fast? And, did I just hear a girl's voice cursing???" the young doctor from House's three doctors appeared in the hallway and stayed a moment stunned.

After stabilizing the patient in the magnetic resonance machine, the others were of the opinion to take images again, but Cameron first wanted to have House's authorization.

Already once the dean of the hospital had canceled her magnetic resonance exams, and besides House said it was not a tumor.

She decided to go after House to know if he already knew the cause of the patient's symptoms, but suddenly noticed that House was nowhere.

Without knowing where to go, she decided to continue forward and see if she could find him. But after five minutes of searching even in the hospital lobby, Cameron went toward the elevators and when the door opened she heard something that left her perplexed.

Ding

"...Just accept it if you are so sure. Hundred to one that she is not his daughter and is a prostitute who wants revenge on House and is giving him a scare."

"I can get House's DNA easily in his office. But where are we going to find the girl's DNA without her consent? Besides she is a minor parental signature is needed."

"Did you not say she is at House's house now?

Girls brush their hair, there must already be hairs from the girl in a hairbrush, besides, a paternity test does not need the father's authorization..."

"But...

Tos, I have a consultation..." Wilson noticed the young doctor from House's team and stopped his words.

He quickly said goodbye with a feeling to the dean of the hospital and left with nervousness and feelings of guilt.

Cuddy did not have as many complexes as Wilson and although she felt a little embarrassed she hid it quickly behind her professionalism.

"Have you finished with the magnetic resonance?" Cuddy asked with a serious face and a professional bearing while holding some beige folders with papers.

"There are no conclusions, we want to do the resonance again..."

"No conclusions? Why again? What does House say?"

"He says it is not a tumor... But"

"Good, keep me informed"

tac, tac, tac

Cuddy without saying anything else left in one direction. Although she always keeps an eye on House's medical cases, as dean of the hospital Cuddy cannot always be attentive and has many administrative and social jobs that keep her busy.

"House has a daughter...?" Cameron stayed standing in front of the elevator doors. Looking in the direction where Wilson went which seems to be the cafeteria although he said he had a consultation and to Cuddy who went toward the large glass doors of the hospital's main entrance.

Meanwhile...

Wilson entered the hospital cafeteria, without knowing how he got here. He simply walked randomly out of shame.

Being heard making a bet about someone's paternity is something shameful.

Being heard talking about a bet about a friend's paternity is even more shameful.

Being heard talking about a bet about a friend's paternity by that friend's subordinate is even much more shameful.

Wilson almost covered his face with his hands.

"Excuse me middle-aged sir who sneaks into other people's houses, can you step aside?"

"Who?..." Wilson woke up from his shame suddenly upon hearing a voice behind him.

Upon turning he saw a young blonde girl looking at him with arms crossed and a mocking expression.

"I... I am not, I do not sneak into other people's houses, I have keys! Besides House is my friend, your father..."

"Uhnmmmmmm~

Well, since you are my father's friend and I cannot find him, you can pay for my lunch." Renelle looked at Wilson and wanted to take advantage of this best friend.

'For some reason this girl's voice is annoying, even though it sounds very sweet' Wilson thought to himself and complained.

"By the way, what is up with those clothes?"

"Oh!

I only arrived with a change of clothes and now it is dirty, and since father's clothes do not fit me I had to use scissors" Renelle shrugged her shoulders.

Renelle cannot say that simply by canceling the body illusion her body shrank and the previous clothes were loose on her.

Using gauze scissors and ribbons she simply cut the shirt sleeves and left the vest in the storage room. She adjusted the belt more and cut the pants.

She also left the shoes since nothing can be done with that and instead put on hospital slippers given to hospitalized patients.

Practically Renelle's current outfit is a disaster.

"How did you get here?"

"I took a taxi"

"And why did you come?"

"There is nothing to eat at home and I want to deliver this to my father..." Renelle took out a cell phone and a locator from the pockets of the now cut pants called rebel fashion pants.

The cell phone and locator have always been with him, but it is a good method to strengthen her excuses.

"Why did you not just call him?"

"Eh? Are you stupid? I have the cell phone. Where am I going to call?"

"Ehhh.... You can call him at his office phone" Wilson suddenly started to feel a headache. 'Damn it, forget the DNA test she really is his daughter!'

"There are no records in the phone agenda..." Renelle rolled her eyes and put the cell phone and locator back in the pockets of her rebel fashion pants.

"But..."

"Can you ask questions while I eat? I am dying of hunger!" Renelle simply passed by Wilson's side and went straight to the cafeteria counter.

Renelle can no longer stand it, the pain of hunger is something she does not like to feel.

Although she has spent a lot of time with her head buried in the mud and eating insects in forests and jungles, that was to survive in her previous life. In this life she believes that if she suffers from hunger it is already for masochistic reasons.

And Renelle is not a masochist, neither in her previous life nor in this life as House. So without thinking more she lined up in the cafeteria purchase line.

The good thing is that there is only one person in front of her.

Renelle, as if she had done it thousands of times before, took a tray at the beginning of the cafeteria counter, placed a wide white plate and with some tongs started to fill her plate with salad with some pink dressing, then in the next station she selected with a meat skewer some steaks and placed them on her plate.

After taking some pork ribs she placed a couple of bolillos.

"Can I have a bottle of coca cola please" Renelle's sweet and melodious voice reached the cashier leaving her frozen for a moment.

"Orange juice. You are too young to drink that kind of beverage" Wilson said immediately.

"Tks" Renelle made pouts with her mouth in a sweet way although it is not her intention.

"Doctor Wilson, she is very cute your niece. Are you going to pay for her?

Little one? Are you also choosing food to share with your uncle?"

"Eh? No, it is just for me"

"Is it not too much? Will you be able to eat it all? Here we do not like those who waste food" the young woman who attends in the cafeteria said scolding Renelle but with a tender tone.

"But why do I feel that this is not enough..." Renelle said something that impacted Wilson and the cafeteria attendant while putting on a sad face and looking at her tray full of food as if for five people.
