3rd Pov:
The air between Mother and daughter was violent, pushing back debris and dust. Anything weak, like sneaky rodents and insects burrowed underground, suffocated from the pressure alone.
Fubuki slowly moved into her usual stance, but before she could fully assume it, Himari vanished in a blur and shimmered behind her.
Fubuki's eyes widened as she quickly acted by twisting around as her staff blocked Himari's fist before a
Shockwave pulsed through the spread and blasted Fubuki in the chest.
Fubuki lost her grip on her spear and was thrown back into a boulder. Fubuki's spear fell into Himari's stretched palm, where she gripped it hard, her expression full of rage.
Without hesitation, she reeled back the weapon and threw it at Fubuki, aiming for her head.
Fubuki clicked her fingers as the spear disappeared into faint orbs of golden light. She leapt away as Himari came in with her elbow transformed into a massive greatsword over her head and brought it down just as the spear disappeared.
The large sword was embedded in the rock as Himari reverted it into her normal arm and gathered energy into the blade as it glowed a mix of green and blue.
Skidding to a halt on the rocky floor, Fubuki resummoned her spear as golden energy gathered around it before she swung the spear as a large crescent-shaped wave of energy emerged.
Himari swung up with the blade, as a horizontal slash of energy was sent to counter her mother's own slash.
The two attacks collided, causing a shockwave to ripple around as both mother and daughter were momentarily pushed back.
Himari changed her sword arm into a large railgun before blasting the rippling attack with the same energy.
Himari's beam of plasma destroyed both attacks and continued forward towards Fubuki. The beam ripped through the air as it exploded out at sea.
Himari's eyes darted around trying to find her mother before her irises changed into a unique symbol before they glanced to the side, bringing up her arm as Fubuki's spear came down to strike her.
Fubuki narrowed her eyes towards Himari as the daughter thrust her free fist towards her mother's face. Fubuki quickly acted, caught the fist, lifted Himari over her head and smashed her into the ground.
Taking several steps back, Fubuki acknowledged her daughter with a small smile, "Impressive Himari, now you're fighting like an Azuma, though you're gonna need to get rid of that anger and embrace the will of a warrior"
Himari spun her body on one hand and leapt back until she landed several meters away from Fubuki. "Not until you apologise!" she spat out through gritted teeth.
"Very well" Fubuki said before shifting back into her stance, "I take back everything I said about Kyouka Uzen, now come and face me Himari"
Himari's eyes widened slightly before shifting into a blank expression. She put her hands together in a strange hand sign as a portal opened behind her and falling through.
Fubuki looked around but couldn't find her daughter before a unique sound reached her ears above. Looking up, she spotted her Daughter mid-air with her hands pointing down at Fubuki.
A massive tornado was expelled from her hands as Fubuki gathered energy in her spear and smashed the blunt end into the ground, forming a golden dome around her.
Himari's form not only boosted her body and abilities to a new level, but also came with the blessing that naturally boosted her already strengthened body to a new level.
Such switching abilities without having her phone in hand. Though this condition was not without its flaws, set by Himari herself.
She can switch her abilities with her mind connected to the phone, at the cost of the phone being on at all times.
In the event of the phone turning off due to inactivity, the battery running out or it being too damaged to cooperate, her connection to the phone would cut and she would be stuck with the same ability she had set before.
The second flaw is that she must have the phone within a 15-meter radius of her so she keeps the phone inside the pockets of her uniform.
The third, and final, flaw is that the battery required to operate such a capacity of constantly switching abilities is greatly increased to the point of her form lasting only 2 hours, if she has her phone at 100% battery.
This wasn't a condition Hinari had settled for herself, but a counter to the overwhelming power flowing through her and into the phone to maintain the switching.
Fubuki continued to hold the dome before she twisted her spear and the dome shattered and let out a burst of golden waves that gave Fubuki just enough time to dodge the returning tornado.
Running around the area, Fubuki eyed Hiamri in the sky as her daughter's eyes locked on hers. Immediately after, Hiamri switched her abilities as the tornado disappeared and Himair crashed into the ground.
She transformed both arms into mini-guns and fired volleys of blue bullets that tore through trees and rock. Fubuki continued to run in circles, avoiding all the bullets that shadowed her trail.
Fubuki narrowed her eyes slightly before her form turned into an afterimage, leaving no trace of her.
Himari continued to fire, unaware of her mother's disappearance as she appeared behind her and swung her spear into her side.
Himari gasped for air as she was thrown into the air, but before she could stabilise herself, Fubuki appeared above her and drove her foot onto her head. Using the momentum Himari gained, she dragged her daughter's body through the ground.
Himari gritted her teeth as she clenched her fist towards the mother. Fubuki tensed up and froze on the spot. Before she could figure it out, she was thrown away and felt something crash down on her from above.
Himari changed her ability again as the invisible weight left her mother, but before she could use her ability Fubuki flashed in front of her, knocked her off her feet with the blunt end of her spear and kicked her into her daughter's side, knocking her away.
Rolling across the ground, she quickly stabilised herself as she slowly got up and leaned against a nearby tree.
Just as she relaxed slightly, pain shot through her body as she instinctively held her side where her mother had kicked her.
'Mother's really not going easy on me now' she commented mentally.
Breathing heavily, she pulled out her phone from her pocket and checked the battery on her phone as her face grew grim, '14%, that's probably around 20 minutes if I slow down the swapping of my abilities'
She let out a long breath before she quickly ducked as a wave of golden energy swept over her, slicing through all the trees, with the force behind it picking up the stumps that left the land barren.
"Enough running Himari, It's time to face me as a warrior and not a coward" Fubuki said coldly, walking slowly towards her with her spear radiating a golden mist.
Himari spat blood from her mouth as she changed her ability again, holding out her hand to the side, and a spear shimmered into existence that closely resembled Fubuki's.
Fubuki stopped in her place as she studied the spear before locking her narrowed gaze on her daughter, "Copying my ability would not change the outcome of this battle"
"Maybe, but it would be enough with what time I have left" Himari said, going into her own stance.
Fubuki got into her own stance before they blurred toward each other, causing a shockwave to be expelled from their clash.
Maia on the cliff, far from the conflict could only stare awestruck at the sparks of blades and waves of golden energy sweeping across the battlefield.
"...Where did these two hide so much power..." She muttered under her breath before quickly composing herself, pushing up her glasses and looking up at the sky.
"Grandmother, please take me out, I forfeit... as well as the slave" Maia said, feeling the weight of powerlessness before the two Azumas fighting against each other.
Her body shimmered into blue lights before she disappeared. Though just as she disappeared, a wave of golden energy swept across the cliff she was standing on, causing it to collapse.
Spear blades clashed against each other, releasing sparks upon contact. Using her extensive experience with the spear, she manipulated Himari's spear by twisting her hold on it and throwing it to the side.
Fubuki then swung her spear into the same side she had previously hit. While in the air, Himari summoned a spear and threw it at Fubuki who tilted her and caught the spears mid-section.
She brought it down to her side and inspected it closely, noticing the numerous damages around the spear.
"Such a weak design, clearly your learning ability is still far from perfect" Fubuki remarked, tossing the weapon aside.
'Although, she seems to be improving it after noticing the mistakes she caught' Fubuki thought, glancing at the destroyed island around her.
The island had multiple cracks that had split open, revealing the blue sea filling in and rising into a makeshift river of seawater.
Trees and other green life had all but been thrown aside or smashed to bits. Spinning her spear to the side, Fubuki blocked a fist from Himari as she sent a shockwave through the spear.
Anticipating this, Fubuki twisted to the side as the shockwave blasted the air but it did push her back, safely minimising the full power of the attack and only receiving a mere backdraft.
"I believe it's time I end this" she muttered under her breath after skidding across the ground.
Standing straight, she took a deep breath and let out a long exhale with her eyes closed before opening them. As soon as she opened them, an invisible force crashed down on everything around her.
Himari took one step towards her before her body was smashed into the ground by the invisible force. She could barely raise her head, but she managed to raise it to see her mother's heels walking towards her.
"You've improved a lot Himari" Fubuki commented, "As a mother, I am deeply proud of you, but the cold truth is you're nowhere near my full power"
"What you've been fighting against, was me at 45%" she said, making Himari widen her eyes as sweat flowed down her cheeks, struggling to stay conscious.
"Rest, Himari, you truly are, an Azuma" Fubuki said, placing a gentle hand on her daughter's head.
Like an invisible switch, Himari's head dropped to the floor, unconscious. Flicking her spear away as it turned into golden particles, Fubuki gently picked up her daughter as they were both enveloped by a blue light and transported out.
Appearing in front of everyone, except for Homare, they all stared wide-eyed at the mother and daughter with Tobera having a wide grin on her lips and crossed arms.
Without another second, she walked over to them as Fubuki gently placed Himari down. As Tobera tended to Hiamri's injuries, Fubuki walked over to Kyouka and Tenka before bowing silently.
"Apologies for slandering your name Kyouka as I thought it would be the best motivation she needed, and it would seem it worked" Fubuki said before glancing at Hiamri over her shoulder.
Kyouka waved her hand dismissively, "It's alright, the memorable lessons are always the harshest ones, my master didn't go soft on me"
Tenka nodded in agreement, "Indeed, you can't learn anything without harsh punishment"
Yuuki standing off to the side, blinked several times, "No wonder you girls are so crazy strong" he commented.
Up on a roof overlooking the crowd was the black crow that had been watching everything unfold before it flew around the Azuma household and landed on a branch that looked into a room with its window open.
The sun had already set by the time Fubuki and Himari had exited the pocket dimension. The only source of light in the room was a desk lamp that lit a section of the room, revealing a wooden desk and bookshelf filled with colourful books.
Hunched on the desk was Homare with her hair down revealing her long black hair and white bangs, her arms resting on the cold wood and her head lowered, eyes staring blankly at the patterns as her mind drifted back to her fight with Himari.
Every hit she remembered, she clenched her fists and her expression changed to a frown of deep hatred.
"That family has everything, and I'm left with the scraps" she said bitterly.
'Why won't anyone accept anything I show' she thought resting her head on her arms.
Homare wasn't shown much attention back in her childhood and all of it went to the main family with her being treated as a mere outcast.
Determined to change that social standing, she trained to her hardest, pushing every limit she had until she saw someone similar to her.
Himari Azuma.
Someone who worked hard, just like her.
Someone who wanted to be seen, just like her.
And yet she found herself annoyed, someone who was copying her way of being noticed was someone in the main family, giving no sign of ever reaching the status she so desperately wanted.
Over the years she had beaten and ridiculed Himari, in the hopes of giving her a chance to make it into the main family.
And the chance to change it was there, right in front of her. Azuma banquet, but her chance was stolen by the very person she tried to take advantage of.
'Was it my arrogance?'
'Did I have a useless ability?'
'Was it that slave?'
She sighed bitterly again and looked at one of the books she had read so much.
'Tales of the warrior princess and a lowly commoner'
"That's probably it, I'm not that loved to have someone support me in my life" she muttered.
"Maybe I am supposed to be weak" she said out loud.
Silence filled the room before a voice reached her ears from the window.
"I wouldn't say that"
