Chapter 174 - Chapter 174 The Price, All Alone

The Progenitor didn't know if God was watching him, but he spoke anyway.

"I will not return alone. I will bring all the angels back to Your side."

After the Progenitor finished speaking, he closed his eyes and waited for a while, but there was no response.

"You never give any answer. In that case, I will place the light sufficient to resurrect all the angels within Mikael's body in the form of seven keys. I will use this power to resurrect everyone so they can return to Your side in a healthy state. You have no objection, right?"

Then, the Progenitor stopped talking and began to transform the light.

"Deceive God's eyes and ears, and transform into 'Darkness'."

The Progenitor instructed the Black Orb Yuu nearby.

"Yuu, prepare to resurrect Mikael and save everyone!"

Receiving the command, Black Orb Yuu unhesitatingly smashed through the wall and rushed out of the tower, even beyond Earth. His body expanded an unknown number of times, even rivaling the moon in size. Then, tentacles began to extend from his body, forming rings around the Tower of Babylon. 'Light' continuously flowed out of the Tower of Babylon and was eventually absorbed by Black Orb Yuu.

"What is that?!"

Angels on Earth noticed a giant, one-eyed black orb appearing in the sky.

The Progenitor watched the energy conversion process anxiously.

"Did it succeed... there's no divine punishment."

Yuichiro watched this incredible scene in shock.

"Yuu is amazing!"

Krul also gained a new understanding of the Progenitor's methods. For some reason, she suddenly thought of Alucard and gradually frowned.

Woo~ woo~ woo... Just as the Progenitor's heart was about to settle, long horn blasts sounded, filling his face with terror.

Crack.

Amidst the horn blasts, a cracking sound rang out. Black Orb Yuu seemed to sense something; glancing sideways, he found cracks appearing on his massive body. However, his energy conversion didn't stop because of it; instead, it began to accelerate.

However, the horn blasts gradually increased and grew louder. Under the Progenitor's stunned expression, Black Orb Yuu's massive body was hit by a white light and split in two.

"Dammit, is it not working?"

At the spot where Black Orb Yuu was split in two, a gate of light appeared. Over a dozen angels holding horns surrounded the gate, chanting.

None of the angels on Earth thought it sounded beautiful; instead, they all looked horrified.

"It's divine punishment! Someone has violated a taboo!"

"What's happening? Aren't we supposed to return to Paradise?!"

Only a few angels looked toward where the Progenitor was, harboring suspicions.

"King, what are you doing?"

The Progenitor knelt on the ground in despair.

"I'm sorry, everyone."

Boom!

Countless beams of light shot out from the gate, descending upon this desolate angel city. Buildings collapsed, turning it into a hellscape.

The thickest beam of light fell on the Progenitor. His clothes, hair, and skin instantly turned to ash. However, it didn't burn him away completely; his recovery speed barely kept pace with it.

I must regenerate my body! Get away from this power!

"Light... ah!!!"

The pain made it impossible for him to use his power; he could only endure it.

Tap, tap, tap... The sound of footsteps approached. The Progenitor could no longer lift his head, but he could still guess the identity of the person coming.

The Archangel, holding a Rod of Punishment, stepped on the air as if descending a staircase and came before the Progenitor, his tone cold.

"Why did you do this? Sigmado, God has been waiting for you. He has always looked forward to your return to His side..."

"Aaaah!"

"And yet, for your own selfish desires, you have pushed your companions into the depths of hell."

The Progenitor forced himself to endure the pain.

"Ah... wait... just punish me..."

Snap.

After the Archangel snapped his fingers, countless orbs of light fell like meteors. The angels hit by them were instantly deconstructed, as if evaporating.

"Amon, quickly go to the King. As long as we save the King, we can still... Watch out!"

The angel byakkomaru—Marbas—spread his wings and pulled Amon into his embrace. He blocked the light orb, and Marbas was deconstructed.

Amon's pupils constricted. Marbas's voice still rang in his ears.

"Save the King..."

"Dammit!"

Amon knew now was not the time to mourn Marbas. He stood up and ran toward the Progenitor, dodging light orbs along the way.

Although the Progenitor was suppressed by the pillar of light, his senses remained. Feeling the presence of the angels gradually vanishing, he roared.

"What have you... done to the angels?!"

The Archangel shook his head and coldly corrected him.

"Don't get it wrong. It's what you did to them. Creation, life extension, and resurrection—any one of these is a great taboo. These ideas dilute gratitude for life and corrupt the soul. Or do you think you are God?"

The Progenitor seemed to start adapting to the pain of the burning light pillar and tried to plead.

"I am the only one who committed a crime. I beg you, spare their lives."

The Archangel, showing no mercy, flew into the air.

"Just their lives isn't enough. All their souls will be connected to hell together. God will never look at you again. Oh, right..."

"King, King! Are you alright?"

The Progenitor turned his head, charred skin falling off his body. He realized something was wrong.

"Amon, don't come over!"

The Archangel looked down upon Amon and the Progenitor with disdain.

"I specifically left one behind, to make you understand how deep your sins are."

Amon didn't yet understand the situation and asked anxiously.

"All the angels are dead. What on earth is..."

"This is your sin."

A bolt of lightning fell straight down. Before Amon could react, it struck his head, killing him instantly.

"Stop!"

Two shouts reached Luke's ears. Luke grabbed Krul just as she was about to rush out, his purple eyes showing a rare seriousness.

"This is just a memory. You can't change anything."

After making eye contact with Luke, Krul regained her senses. She clicked her tongue and continued watching, though her clenched fists revealed the turmoil in her heart.

Although Amon wasn't Ashera, Krul, who had once lost her brother, couldn't bear to see someone who looked exactly like him die before her eyes.

However, Luke secretly memorized the Archangel's face.

The Progenitor was equally powerless against Amon's death. His mind was on the verge of collapse.

Everyone is dead... The Archangel carried out the judgment.

"By linking the souls of everyone who was destroyed to this land, gather all the lightning upon Sigmado."

"Understood."

The other angels from Paradise did as told. The light pillar on the Progenitor vanished, replaced by countless lightning bolts striking him. Afterward, even though no more attacks fell, the Progenitor continued to burn uncontrollably.

"Kill me, I beg you... I want to vanish from this world."

For the first time ever, the Progenitor showed a humble, submissive attitude.

The Archangel said playfully.

"Oh? You noticed. After being scorched by light and continuously regenerating, you have become an immortal. This is the punishment for your attempt to commit resurrection. You will burn forever with your guilt."

The Archangel and his subordinates prepared to return to Paradise.

"Convey to God for me..."

"No. I will not relay a single word from a sinner."
