Chapter 78 - Teleporting across

Silence chose to be another accomplice to Anaphol, and Neva Verticia's parade to the second period. It walked along them, encompassing them at times.

Neva spoke having walked for last couple of minutes in silence, "The next class is for lesio of flight. It is part of the lesios curriculum."

Confirming he heard her, Naph nodded. "This lesio…," considering what she should tell as a stand-in host for a couple of moments, she chose a simpler explanation, "has a rich history being first lesio claimed by most scholars to be learned by Rian no Tera."

Looking straight up into the clouds, while both of them ascended along an incline, "He faced death for the first time here. That is the most agreed upon fact among historians."

Whispering under a slight breath inhaled, "Historians?"

"Hmm?" Neva was confused. Then she remembered a detail from her father's letter. "Oh! I am so sorry! I forgot." Trying to cover her mistake, she rambled about, "Umm, you know, history, right? So, a historian is-"

"No need." Anaphol stopped her mid sentence, "I know what a historian is. Just because I did not go to a school does not mean I never read." Remembering a few books he had read since the war began. 'Since Bulwark,' he reminded himself unknowingly.

Shaking his head swiftly, "I did read the history of Confederation of Tarna and had a dictionary with me some of the times whenever I made it to Rentilaco. So I know." His lips remembering those days had a sweet curve wanting to be a smile, but the lips accepted it couldn't be. Not now, not when Anaphol is plagued with something he wishes to resolve sooner.

And on utmost urgency.

Neva had a few things she, herself, wanted to talk to Anaphol about but there was something very specific stopping her from. Mostly it was three.

The first being the language barrier, the second being her as one of the stand-in hosts and, third and the most important one, the letter from her father Baron Oliver Verticia. She did not speak Reswa natively. Not enough to convey every thought process, nor she has gained a lesio that could help her translate it yet.

Yet, she knew the lesio Duchess Inri Plora had pushed Anaphol to learn of. At least the guesses her father had of it.

"So, Anaphol while staying at the Highest Family's castle, did you happen to learn anything useful?" As she heard herself say that she realized the mistake, one that matched her father's warnings. The colour draining from her face by the slightest amount. "I mean, anything useful for your proposal?" As they both kept walking.

Naph couldn't place a finger on what changed so he went along with it. "Inri Plora guided me to the Embers of Perspicuity." Climbing some more flights of stairs, "I guess that counts? Since that will let me speak different languages, I think?"

"Embers of perspicuity?" Thinking a bit, Neva inquired after a while having both walked some more until a small hut was in view next to the paved path. "Is that one from one of Rian no Tera's?"

"Yup?"

"Is its other name 'the language of comprehension'?"

She received an affirmative nod. To which Anaphol saw Neva facepalming her forehead.

Neva stopped in front of the hut. Naph did too. Raising a brow questioning why, he waited.

Rather than answering Neva walked inside the hut, and took out her schedule of the week by pinching her cuffs. The paper recollected itself into existence from dust onto her palm.

"Hold up your schedule and say the period number you have for today." Rang a voice as Neva stepped over the first curves of the pattern below. Anaphol heard it too. It was clear, loud and not like how he heard the translated teachings of his first period.

Seeing Neva holding up her schedule, as she signaled him by bobbing her head to the left. Naph walked in.

Taking out the schedule and unfolding it, "Now what?"

"Just as the voice said." Neva cleared her throat, and then spoke to the hut made of bricks. "Period number 2!" She held up the schedule.

"Detected another student present. Please advise all to state their period number." Resounded inside the hut's open walls.

"Come o-!" She realized who she was with uttering her native language. Transitioning back to Reswa, she calmly said, "Anaphol just follow my lead word to word and action to action."

"In case, the students don't require to go to the class of the period please state the nearest public access building to your destination." The hut's voice cut in.

"One more time." She held up her schedule, Naph followed her.

"Period number 2!" Neva uttered.

"Period number 2." Naph complied.

Mesmerized by the unfolding of the patterns below them into visible light that encompassed the two, Naph did not even consider why was he needed to do this. He had not once asked.

As the light unfurled and curled around them, so did lights far away in the capital of the Keyriftrian Empire inside of the palace of the Highest Family in the capital city Rimtral.

The room was choked with light viscerally mangling space itself. Yet the space danced around it the best it could. And out stepped a woman of utmost importance for the future of Tarna.

Cryst eyes had a single drop of tear that she wiped off. Not waiting for the lights to subside she stepped into the space that was mangled so much that matter would disintegrate.

Yet, Cryst didn't.

She used her lesios that rooted themselves in the element of fulminar. Rupturing sounds echoed within the space while lightning mapped out the smallest pockets. The door opened.

The light behind her hadn't subsided, nor were the thunderstrikes stopped.

"That's going to leave a mark." The Duchess of Knowledge commented.

Cryst turned to face the duchess coming towards the teleportation room. "My duchess." She bowed, "I have come here to address…" Considering what she truly was going to say to His Highness, she corrected herself, "I have come here to declare the decisions our party has proceeded to do already."

"I heard you talking." The voice reached deep into Cryst's very being. As her eyes lifted up from the floor, she found that she had been teleported out of the corridor into the great hall.

The Emperor Stelart Keyriftrian was supposedly standing in front of the throne while only a select few of the council stood including Lady Izne Hont Kyeriftrian. The entire hall except for them, Cryst and Duchess Inri Plora was empty.

His gaze lifted off Cryst to turn and face deep into the east. Cryst's breath carried within it the tension and a sudden release of relief.

"I can already see Dykur is about to reach the beaches of Tarna, while Svnyo, Litto, and Nert are packing up equipments for a long haul and freedom of Tarna." The Emperor of the Keyriftrian empire returned his gaze on Cryst, "So, answer me why should I unfreeze Ovier from delivering a message personally to the Guest of the Keyriftrian Empire?"
