Chapter 1 - Chepter 1:- End of the Road

2035

India, Gujarat, Vadodara

A dark night under a bright moon.

The roads of Vadodara were still alive, filled with people moving in different directions, each lost in their own world.

A black electric bike cut through the street.

A middle-aged man rode it silently.

"Today I'm late again… the warehouse work is too much. I always need to do extra hours," Krishna muttered to himself.

His full name was Patel Krishna.

He worked as a DEO in a logistics warehouse. He lived alone in a small rented house in Vadodara.

After some time, he finally reached home.

Krishna parked his bike and locked it. Then, as always, he checked the lock again… and again… and again.

"I never forget this habit… it's so stupid. Why am I like this?" he thought.

Even after knowing it was unnecessary, he couldn't stop himself from checking things repeatedly.

After finishing, he went inside his small rented house—just three rooms, quiet and empty.

Krishna took a shower and changed his clothes.

As he walked into his room, his eyes fell on a photo.

A family photo.

His father. His mother. And him.

He picked it up slowly.

"What kind of life is this…" he whispered in a deep, trembling voice. "Father… Mother… I could never become your hopeful son. I am a failure…"

Tears filled his eyes.

"I couldn't fulfill your dreams… I couldn't even fulfill my own. My life is just passing… wasted…"

Krishna had been struggling with many mental issues. Living alone had slowly changed him. His thoughts had become unstable… sometimes even frightening.

At times, he felt like running away from everything.

But those thoughts only became darker with time.

His dream was to become an actor.

But he never achieved it.

He wanted to give his parents a better life…

But he failed.

Krishna looked up at the bright moon in the sky.

"Another dark night…" he murmured. "This world is only for smart people… not for someone like me… someone weak… someone different…"

Exhausted, Krishna lay down on his bed.

Tomorrow was Sunday—his weekly day off.

He closed his eyes.

"Another day gone… I wish I were with my parents… I don't want to live in this selfish world…"

And slowly, he fell asleep.

Morning

"Ring… Ring…"

The AI alarm started ringing.

Krishna, still half-asleep, groaned and opened his eyes.

"Again this… stupid AI…"

He got out of bed and washed his face. After taking a shower, he began cleaning his apartment.

He cleaned everything—his small rooms, the kitchen, his clothes—until the place looked neat again.

After finishing, he lay down on the sofa and turned on the TV.

"Again this fake, manipulated news…" Krishna muttered. "They always try to fool people… but now, not many people even watch this."

On the screen, the news channel continued broadcasting meaningless updates.

Years ago, media channels had started spreading fake information and manipulating the public. At first, people believed everything. But over time, they realized the truth.

Now, most people ignored it.

The media had lost its credibility.

Krishna sighed and switched channels, eventually watching a random movie.

After some time, he decided to go out.

He took his bike and headed toward the mall.

The mall in Vadodara was crowded.

After finishing his shopping, Krishna noticed many people wearing sleek glasses.

AI glasses.

Without using phones, people could now manage everything through those devices—calls, payments, entertainment… even daily life.

Krishna had one too.

But he never used it.

"Huh… AI nonsense," he muttered, ignoring them.

After completing his shopping, he paid using his fingerprint through his account-linked payment system.

Transaction complete.

Without wasting time, he left the mall and returned home.

"Another boring life…"

After reaching home, Krishna cooked his food, ate quietly, and then stood in front of the mirror.

He stared at himself.

Messy black hair.

A slightly overweight body.

An average, forgettable face.

"I don't even look good…" he said softly. "God gave me life… but why is my mind like this? I can't control my thoughts… my life is getting worse every day…"

His expression turned darker.

"I want to die… but I don't want to commit suicide. Then what's the meaning of living? No dreams… no family… no goal…"

His voice trembled.

"Why am I even alive in this world… a world that doesn't even know me…"

Krishna lay down on his bed, staring at the ceiling.

"This kind of life… it's nothing but pain. God, just end it… My own people, my family… they're gone. Why am I still here? What's the meaning of living like this…"

He always complained to God.

Why was his life so miserable?

Slowly, exhaustion took over, and he fell asleep.

After some time…

A sudden pain struck his chest.

Krishna's eyes opened.

But something was wrong.

He couldn't move his body.

He couldn't even speak.

His breathing became heavy.

He didn't understand what was happening.

"Is this… my end…?" his thoughts echoed weakly.

His vision started fading.

And then…

Everything went dark.

There was no one around him.

No friends.

No family.

Not even a neighbor.

He died alone in his house.

The AI system automatically alerted the nearest hospital.

But it was too late.

Before anyone could arrive…

Patel Krishna was already gone.
