Chapter 10 - Chapter 10 — The Balance Test

Marvin stood in the center of the main hall, breathing slowly, trying to ignore the chaos unfolding around him.

"I just fixed one disaster," he muttered. "Why is there always another one waiting?"

The Observation Lens flickered to life.

Colors flooded his vision.

Too many colors.

Too much red.

The Prism Entity hovered near the ceiling, refracting beams of light in every direction. The walls shimmered like broken glass, distorting space itself.

The Verdant Caller knelt near the floor, vines spreading uncontrollably, curling around chairs, tables—even creeping toward the walls like they were searching for something.

Tick-Tock—

Marvin turned just in time to see the small clock-like creature flicker.

One second it was moving normally.

The next—

It blurred.

Then stopped completely.

Then sped up again, darting across the room like a glitch in reality.

"Okay!" Marvin shouted. "Everyone calm down! One at a—"

A vine shot past his face.

A beam of light bent unnaturally and struck the wall.

Tick-Tock ran straight into his leg.

Marvin stumbled. "—time!!"

DING!

Guest Harmony: 58% → 52% → 49%

Warning: Critical Instability Approaching

Marvin froze.

"…49%?"

He swallowed hard.

"Okay… no more talking."

He closed his eyes.

Garden of Time.

Dining Hall.

The Rift.

Every time… it was the same.

Chaos.

Flow.

Balance.

"…I need to feel it," he whispered.

He opened his eyes.

The world slowed—not physically, but in his perception.

The colors from the Observation Lens became clearer.

More detailed.

More understandable.

The Prism Entity wasn't angry.

It was unstable.

The Verdant Caller wasn't attacking.

It was overflowing.

Tick-Tock wasn't chaotic.

It was out of sync.

"…So I don't stop them," Marvin said softly.

"I balance them."

He raised his hand.

The air shimmered.

A small area around him stabilized.

The vines slowed.

The light beams softened.

Tick-Tock paused—just for a moment.

Marvin took a step forward.

Expanded the effect.

The shimmer spread outward like a calm wave.

"Easy… easy…"

The Prism Entity dimmed slightly, its light focusing instead of scattering.

The Verdant Caller's vines stopped growing wildly, instead settling into gentle, controlled movement.

Tick-Tock's ticking sound stabilized into a steady rhythm.

DING!

Guest Harmony: 49% → 55% → 63%

Marvin's breathing steadied.

"Yeah… that's it…"

He pushed further.

The entire room began to stabilize.

The chaotic energy aligned.

The air became clear.

The pressure lifted.

DING!

Guest Harmony: 63% → 71% → 81%

Silence.

Real silence.

No flying objects.

No uncontrolled growth.

No flickering chaos.

Marvin dropped into a chair, exhausted.

"…I did it."

The Prism Entity floated closer, its light now calm and focused.

"Balance achieved," it said in a fragmented voice.

The Verdant Caller nodded slightly. "You listen… to the flow."

Tick-Tock made a soft, steady ticking sound beside him.

Marvin laughed weakly. "Yeah… I'm starting to get it."

DING!

System Notice: Advanced Stability Control Unlocked (Passive Growth).

Marvin blinked. "Wait… I leveled up again?"

He leaned back, staring at the ceiling.

"…Okay."

A small smile formed on his face.

"Maybe… I can actually do this."
