Chapter 24 - CHAPTER 23-NEW SUIT

The Hornet estate garage had always been a place of steel, sparks, and the hum of machines. But tonight, the air felt different. The tension of distrust between Tarus and Homeless had faded into something new—purpose. The demon was gone, but the danger was greater than ever. Malakar now had an empire in Dynamo, and Tarus knew that facing him alone would be suicide.Homeless sat quietly, staring at the shining Hornet suit that stood on its platform like a knight ready for war. For the first time in years, he felt powerless. His hands trembled,

remembering the strength the demon once gave him—the speed, the fire, the unstoppable force. Now he was only a man, scarred and broken.Tarus noticed the silence and spoke.

Tarus: "You're thinking about the demon, aren't you?"

Homeless (softly): "Without him, I am nothing in a fight. If I stand beside you against Malakar, I'll only slow you down."

Tarus smiled faintly, shaking his head.

Tarus: "No. You don't need the demon. You need a suit. Your own suit. With AI, with power, with control. If you trust me, I'll build one with you. Together."

Homeless lifted his eyes. "A suit… for me?"

Tarus nodded. "Yes. If Malakar builds his army in Dynamo, we'll build ours here. You'll be the second pilot. We'll give you strength not borrowed from a demon, but made from human hands and steel."

The Plan:

They spread blueprints across the worktable, sketches and diagrams filling the desk. Tarus explained the concept. The frame would be lighter than Tarus's Hornet suit, built for speed and close combat. The AI core would be designed to help Homeless react faster, reading enemy moves and guiding his strikes. The weapons would not rely on fire or shadows. Instead, the suit would use shockwave gauntlets and energy blades powered by the same plasma tech that Hornet had.The name would carry Homeless's rebirth. No longer just a beggar, no longer a vessel. This suit would give him a new identity.

Homeless leaned closer, his voice low. "I don't want a name that hides my past. I want one that reminds me what I was—and what I must never be again."

Tarus nodded. "Then we build the Shadow Suit."

Building the Suit:

For weeks, the garage became their second home. Sparks lit the air as welding torches screamed. The scent of molten metal and burning wires filled the nights. Tarus and his father worked on the frame, bending alloys into shape, while Homeless carried parts, learned the systems, and slowly began to understand the language of machines. The AI core was the hardest. Tarus's voice echoed through the garage as he coded.

Tarus: "This AI isn't just numbers. It's a partner. It will learn from you, speak to you, and fight with you. Treat it like a friend, not a tool."

Homeless frowned. "And if it tries to control me, like Malakar did?"

Tarus looked at him seriously. "Then we shut it down. But this AI isn't born of rage—it's born of logic and trust. You're the master here."Homeless hesitated, then nodded. He touched the glowing AI chip with a kind of respect, whispering to himself, "Not a demon. A guide."

First Test:

After nights of work, the Shadow Suit stood ready. Sleek, black, and trimmed with silver lines that glowed faintly blue. It looked lighter than Hornet's suit but still strong, shaped for speed and agility.Tarus activated it, and the panels opened. Homeless stepped inside nervously. The suit sealed around him, its systems humming to life. For a moment, he froze, expecting the crushing control of Malakar. Instead, a calm digital voice filled his ears.

AI Voice: "Welcome, Pilot. I am Shade, your support system. I am here to fight beside you."

Homeless gasped. His hands trembled, but this time not from fear. It felt different—steady, alive, but not overpowering.

Homeless: "Shade… You don't want to control me?"

AI Voice: "No. I want to help you win."

Tarus grinned. "Looks like it works."

Training:

The next days were filled with trials. Homeless learned to run in the suit, to leap, to strike. He fell hard, failed often, but Shade corrected him, guiding his steps. Slowly, his movements grew sharper, faster. In one test, the Shadow Suit's gauntlets slammed into a steel wall, releasing a shockwave that cracked the concrete. Homeless stared at his hands in awe.

Homeless: "So much power… but it listens to me. It doesn't burn me."

Tarus: "Because this power is yours. Built by us. Not forced by a demon."

For the first time in years, Homeless smiled.

A New Bond:

One evening, after a long training session, Homeless removed the helmet and looked at Tarus.

Homeless: "You gave me more than a suit. You gave me a chance. For the first time since the train attack, I feel… human. And strong."

Tarus placed a hand on his shoulder.

Tarus: "Then keep it safe. This isn't just a weapon. It's proof you don't need darkness to fight. You can stand on your own."

Homeless nodded firmly. "Together, then. Hornet and Shadow."

The Storm Ahead:

In the distance, Dynamo's towers glowed, and inside them, Malakar's laughter echoed through his new host. But now, Tarus was not alone. Beside him stood Homeless, no longer a puppet of shadow, but a man with his own armor, his own AI, and his own path. The war was coming. And this time, the world would see not just one suit, but two—light and shadow, standing side by side.
