Chapter 1 - “The Girl No One Noticed”

Chapter 1: Invisible Since Always

Some people are born special.

Some people are made special.

And then… there are people like her.

Invisible.

"Tum thodi normal kyun nahi ho?" her mother's voice echoed in the room.

She stood there… quiet. Like always.

Her fingers were tightly clutching the edge of her kurti, knuckles turning white… but her face?

Blank.

Almost like she had learned how to feel… nothing.

"I-I tried…" she whispered softly.

"Tried?" her father scoffed. "Tumse kuch hota bhi hai kabhi?"

That hit.

Not hard enough to break her…

But enough to remind her—

She was never enough.

She wasn't unloved.

No… that would have been easier.

She was just… less loved.

Less seen.

Less heard.

Less… everything.

Being the only daughter didn't make her special.

It made her… expected.

Perfect marks.

Perfect behavior.

Perfect silence.

And she gave them exactly that.

Silence.

School was no different.

Same faces. Same whispers.

"She's weird…"

"Always alone…"

"Does she even talk?"

She did.

Just not where anyone could hear.

At night…

when the world finally stopped looking at her like she didn't belong—

She became someone else.

Someone louder.

Someone braver.

Someone who didn't lower her eyes every time someone looked at her.

Her phone screen glowed softly in the dark.

A message popped up.

Unknown: "You don't talk much in real life… do you?"

Her breath paused.

Fingers hovering over the screen.

Who is this…?

Another message.

"But I've been watching you."

Her heart skipped.

Not fear.

Not exactly.

Something else.

Something… unfamiliar.

She typed slowly:

"Who are you?"

Seen.

Typing…

Stopped.

Typing again…

Then finally—

"Someone who sees you… when no one else does."

Her lips parted slightly.

For the first time in a long time…

She felt noticed.

And maybe...

that was the beginning of everything.

Or the beginning of something she would regret.

To be continued…
