Instead of going anywhere, Gopal stayed at home and thought carefully. On the sixth day, he came up with a clever plan.
On the seventh day, he arrived at the royal court carrying a small pot filled with soil. The king looked surprised.
"Where is the mango?" the king asked.
Gopal bowed and said,
"Your Majesty, I have brought something even better—the magical mango tree itself! I planted its seed in this pot. By tomorrow morning, it will grow and give the sweetest mango."
The courtiers started whispering and laughing quietly, thinking Gopal had finally made a fool of himself.
The king said, "Very well, we shall wait till tomorrow."
