Chapter 22:
After landing in Sydney, Sebastian stepped out of the airport, where a row of sleek black cars awaited him. His secretary who was also his assistant stood nearby, ready to welcome him back.
As Sebastian approached, his secretary bowed respectfully.
"Welcome back, Boss," he greeted.
Sebastian merely gave a slight nod before getting into the car.
He headed straight to his office, where he spent the entire day dealing with various issues. By the time he finally returned to the main Sterling mansion, it was already time for dinner.
He went to his room, changed into something more comfortable, and made his way to the dining hall.
Everyone was already seated when he entered.
Sebastian took his seat, and a maid promptly placed a plate of food in front of him.
"How was your day?" Robert asked, glancing at him.
"Fine," Sebastian replied flatly.
He picked up his fork and took a bite of the food, but it tasted bland.
He paused, then slowly lifted his gaze from his plate and looked around the table.
Theo was absentmindedly poking at his food. Robert had barely eaten a few bites, while David hadn't even touched his meal.
They all looked miserable, and Sebastian understood exactly why.
Yuvan had spoiled their taste buds with his delicious cooking, and now, nothing seemed to taste quite as good as the food he made.
Sebastian took a few more bites before setting down his fork.
"I'm done," he announced, rising from his seat before leaving the dining hall.
He returned to his room, but the moment he lay down, he realised that he couldn't sleep.
Yuvan wasn't there.
Sebastian had grown accustomed to falling asleep with Yuvan nestled in his arms. Without him, the bed felt unbearably empty.
He tossed and turned throughout the night, but sleep refused to come.
And this continued for several more days.
Sebastian could neither eat nor sleep properly. With each passing day, his frustration grew, leaving him increasingly irritable and short-tempered.
His temper became so unpredictable that he even killed two of his men simply because they had brought him the wrong thing.
He once fired half of his marketing team because they had lost an order worth hundrads of dollars.
His employees grew increasingly terrified as the days passed.
No one could understand what had suddenly caused their usually composed boss to become so furious and unreasonable.
Currently, Sebastian was in his office, typing furiously on his laptop, when a female employee entered his cabin with a file clutched tightly in her trembling hands.
She hesitantly approached his desk, her steps growing slower with every passing second.
"B-Boss," she called out nervously.
Sebastian's eyes snapped up at her, cold and dangerous.
The girl trembled under his intimidating gaze but forced herself to hold out the file.
"Accountant's report," she stammered.
Sebastian snatched the file from her hands and opened it.
His eyes scanned the contents, and within seconds, his expression darkened.
His jaw clenched as he read through the report.
With a sudden movement, he slammed the file onto the table.
"What is this?" he demanded coldly.
The girl immediately lowered her head, trembling even more.
"I'm sorry, Boss," she whispered.
Sebastian's jaw tightened.
"You're fired."
