"I'm sorry," I muttered in a low voice, clueless about what to say to her.
Then I proceeded to wipe her tears with my thumb.
"I would never do such a thing as abandoning my woman. I have always known something was missing in my life since I couldn't remember my past beyond the slave house. I knew it didn't make any sense. A friend I met recently made it known to me that I have royal blood, but it only made my confusion worse. Now, it all makes sense. I am sorry for what happened in the past, and now that we are reunited, I promise to make it up to you," I said, caressing her face.
It felt like a boulder had been lifted off my chest as I spoke, and Seraphina only cried more.
Now, I see her more like a broken woman. Push her too hard and she goes psycho. There's no avoiding her at this point.
Suddenly, Rhalia came back with a tray holding two cups of tea. She placed them on the table and bowed deeply before leaving.
