Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 reincarnation

In a simple house on the outskirts of the city, an ordinary-looking young man sat cross-legged with a complicated expression on his face.

His pupils glowed faintly with exhaustion, yet beneath that fatigue was a spirit that had not yet been extinguished.

Qin Yun stared blankly at the empty air in front of him, as if looking at something no one else could see, before slowly letting out a long sigh.

"System… it's already been thirty years. Don't you think you're a little late?" he muttered.

Yes… as one might have guessed, he was a time traveler from Earth who had somehow reincarnated in this world and had already lived here for thirty years.

At the beginning of his new life, he was born in an ordinary village and lived an equally ordinary life, quietly passing his days in a feudal era that felt strange at first but gradually became familiar.

At first, Qin Yun thought he would become rich by using the modern knowledge from his previous life.

He had even imagined making soap, selling it, and slowly becoming the richest person in the region.

However, the reality of this world turned out to be far different from what he had imagined.

In this ancient eastern world, his fate changed when he accidentally discovered a hidden cave in the mountains at the age of seventeen.

Inside the cave was a legacy left behind by a long-dead cultivator.

The inheritance contained several simple cultivation manuals as well as a few remaining spirit stones.

Thanks to that, after many years of struggling to understand the techniques he had found, Qin Yun finally managed to break through to the first level of Qi Refinement at the age of twenty-five.

After that, with the determination that had long taken root in his heart, he said goodbye to his parents and left the small village where he had grown up.

He then began his journey in search of the path to immortality.

After a year of wandering, he arrived at a small city for cultivators known as Fangshi.

There, he spent part of his remaining spirit stones to undergo a spiritual root test.

The result…

His talent turned out to be extremely poor.

A Grade One spiritual root, with a score of only seven points.

At first, Qin Yun had thought he was a child of destiny, someone who had obtained great fortune and would eventually become powerful.

But reality slapped him in the face without mercy.

Cultivation was far more difficult than he had imagined.

Even just reaching the Qi Refinement stage in the mortal world had already taken him eight full years.

With a Grade One spiritual root like his, every step forward in cultivation felt incredibly heavy.

He required far more resources than others just to achieve even the smallest progress.

Not to mention that he was merely a poor rogue cultivator.

Without a sect, without a powerful family backing him, Qin Yun was forced to live in the shabby houses inhabited by ordinary mortals on the outskirts of the city.

Fortunately, the cultivator whose inheritance he had found long ago turned out to be an alchemist.

From the remaining manuals, Qin Yun slowly learned that craft.

He spent nearly an entire year studying the basics of alchemy before finally managing to survive using that skill.

Gradually, he moved into the inner district of the city, where cultivators lived—though only in the most modest area.

He lived peacefully while trying to survive and continue cultivating in Fangshi. His days passed simply: refining low-grade pills, saving every spirit stone he had, and quietly practicing the inherited cultivation technique he had obtained years ago.

Life continued like that for quite a long time, until one day…

A strange screen that somehow felt very familiar suddenly appeared before his eyes.

[ Name : Qin Yun ]

[ Talent : ( Grade 1 Spiritual Root : 7/10 ) ]

[ Cultivation : ( Qi Refinement Level 1 : 44/100 ) ]

[ Cultivation Technique : ( Low Flame Refinement : 4/10 ) ]

[ Skill : ( Beginner Alchemist : 6/10 ) ]

[ Spells : ( Beginner Fire Control : 5/10 ), ( Beginner Fireball : 3/10 ) ]

[ Luck Points : 10 ]

[ Achievement : ( A Reincarnator gains 1 Luck Point every day ) ]

Seeing this panel, the corner of Qin Yun's mouth twitched uncontrollably.

He already knew he was weak… but seeing everything displayed so clearly still felt a little painful. Especially when his gaze stopped on the achievement section.

A reincarnator… only worth 1 Luck Point per day?

Not to mention the beginner package that only gave him 10 Luck Points.

Qin Yun frowned, feeling that this system was… incredibly stingy.

A strange thought even crossed his mind.

Could it be that the system was secretly skimming some of his Luck Points?

No—! That should be impossible… right?

Qin Yun's face showed a hint of doubt. He paused for a moment before clearing his throat lightly and speaking with caution.

"Hehe… Father System, is the beginner package really only ten points? Is this the genuine one?"

But no matter how he tried asking or speaking to it, the system gave no response whatsoever.

The transparent screen remained silent and cold, as if it were merely an information board that did not care about his complaints at all.

Qin Yun finally let out a long sigh.

"I'm helpless… this system doesn't even come with artificial intelligence," he complained in a powerless tone, as if lamenting his own fate.

Strangely enough, deep down he also felt a little relieved.

Especially when he imagined what it would be like if the system truly had its own consciousness and stayed beside him at all times.

Just thinking about that was enough to make Qin Yun shiver unconsciously.

With no other choice, Qin Yun stared at the number 10 Luck Points for a long time.

After thinking for a while, he finally let out another long sigh.

"Fine… it's better than having nothing at all."
