The history of the modern world begins in the year 2030.
That year, an unknown phenomenon appeared simultaneously across the four corners of the planet. At first, scientists believed they were observing simple natural anomalies: spatial disturbances, energy fluctuations, and zones where the laws of physics seemed to behave in unstable ways.
These phenomena were initially studied as new scientific curiosities.
But that hypothesis quickly vanished.
The anomalies evolved and transformed into what would later be called dimensional fissures.
These breaches literally tore reality apart. They connected Earth to unknown dimensions, foreign worlds whose existence had never previously been imagined.
Then the first creatures emerged.
The monsters that came out of these fissures possessed physical abilities far beyond those of humans. Some could crush armored vehicles, while others could withstand heavy weaponry. The armies of the world, despite being equipped with the most advanced military technologies, were quickly overwhelmed.
Within only a few years, the situation became catastrophic.
Many cities were destroyed. Entire regions of the planet became uninhabitable. Governments collapsed, and humanity entered a period of total chaos.
Thus began the conflict that historians would later call the Great Dimensional War.
The century of war
The struggle against the monsters lasted one hundred years.
For that entire century, humanity lived on the edge of extinction. Modern weapons, military strategies, and technological progress were not enough to repel the creatures coming from the dimensions.
It was during this critical period that the phenomenon of the Chosen first appeared.
A mysterious entity, later referred to as the System, manifested itself.
No one knew where this force came from or who had created it. Yet it began selecting certain humans and granting them blessings, powers capable of rivaling the monsters.
During this century of war, the rules governing the appearance of the Chosen were unpredictable.
A soldier could receive a blessing in the middle of a battlefield.
A scientist could be chosen inside a laboratory.
A civilian could suddenly see a luminous interface appear before them announcing their awakening.
No identifiable rule seemed to guide this selection. The only apparent objective was the survival of humanity.
These new warriors gradually changed the balance of the conflict.
Thanks to them, humans began to repel certain invasions, reclaim lost territories, and close several dimensional fissures. Over time, some Chosen became true legends. They formed teams, explored the dimensions, and discovered methods that allowed them to stabilize the breaches.
After one hundred years of relentless combat, humanity finally managed to regain control of the situation.
Around the year 2130, most of the major fissures were sealed.
The war officially came to an end.
However, not all the breaches disappeared.
The reconstruction of the world
When the war ended, human civilization was deeply shattered.
Many former nations had disappeared. Global infrastructure lay in ruins, and some regions of the planet remained infested with monsters. The balance of the world had to be entirely rebuilt.
It was during this period that five major powers gradually emerged to organize the survivors and protect the territories that were still habitable.
These new superpowers became known as the Five Empires.

Noxar Empire
Each empire took control of a vast territory and assumed the responsibility of monitoring the dimensional fissures that were still active.
Because despite the end of the war, some breaches remained open.
These fissures still led to foreign dimensions where countless monsters continued to live.
The change in the System
After the stabilization of the world, researchers began to notice a strange phenomenon.
During the century of war, the Chosen could appear at any moment in a person's life.
But a few years after the end of the conflict, the behavior of the System changed.
New blessings began to appear almost exclusively in children aged twelve or thirteen, most often on the day of their birthday.
At first, scientists believed it was a simple coincidence.
But the years passed, and the observations continued to confirm the same pattern.
Whenever a child reached that age, a luminous interface would appear before them to announce their awakening.
Little by little, this observation became a certainty.
The System had modified its rules of selection.
No one knew why.
The present world
Three centuries have passed since the Great Dimensional War.
Today, the year is 2438.
The world has stabilized, but it still carries the scars of the past. The dimensions still exist, monsters continue to live within them, and the Chosen remain essential to the survival of humanity.
The Chosen
In the present world, a Chosen is a person selected by the System at the age of twelve or thirteen.
When a child is chosen, a bluish interface appears before them and announces their awakening.
It generally declares:
"You have become a Chosen.
You have received the blessing: [name of the blessing].
Rank: [F, E, D, C, B, A or S]."
The blessing represents a unique power granted by the System.
It can take many forms: physical enhancement, energy manipulation, control over elements, or particular supernatural abilities.
Each blessing also possesses a rank determined at the moment it appears.
The ranks are classified as follows:
F, E, D, C, B, A and S.
This rank represents the initial power and the overall potential of the ability.
However, one rule is absolute. The rank of a blessing can never change.
A Chosen may grow stronger through training, experience, or combat, but the fundamental nature of their blessing will always remain the same.
Thus, even if a rank C Chosen eventually reaches a level of power comparable to that of a rank A Chosen, the classification of their blessing will officially remain rank C.
The role of the Chosen
The Chosen are now the primary defensive force of humanity.
They are the only ones capable of exploring the dimensions connected to the fissures that remain active.
These worlds contain dangerous monsters. If the dimensions are not regularly cleared, the breaches can become unstable again and release corrupted energy that behaves like a form of destructive radiation.
For this reason, the Chosen are tasked with exploring and securing these dimensions, which also possess their own ranking system according to their level of danger.
From F to S, several dimensions exist within each category.
They contain not only monsters but also immense riches: rare minerals, ancient artifacts, and materials unknown on Earth.
Many Chosen therefore become dimensional hunters, exploring these dangerous worlds in order to extract resources from them. Some accumulate colossal fortunes through these expeditions.
The Apostles
Above the Chosen exists a far rarer category: the Apostles.
Unlike the Chosen, who receive only a limited portion of divine power, Apostles inherit a massive fraction of a god's power, generally between thirty and forty percent.
However, no one becomes an Apostle directly.
Every Apostle was first a Chosen.
When a Chosen becomes exceptionally powerful or draws the attention of a deity, that god may offer them the chance to become their Apostle.
The Chosen is free to accept or refuse.
If they accept, they immediately receive colossal power and become the direct representative of that god in the human world.
Apostles also possess their own ranking system, generally ranging from D to S.
Even the lowest ranked Apostle surpasses the majority of the Chosen.
A rank D Apostle can surpass a rank C Chosen.
A rank C Apostle generally exceeds a rank B Chosen.
A rank B Apostle can rival a rank S Chosen.
A rank A Apostle can be twice as powerful as a rank S Chosen.
As for rank S Apostles, their power can reach four to five times that of the most powerful Chosen.
A world still fragile
Even three centuries after the Great Dimensional War, the balance of the world remains fragile.
The dimensions still exist.
The monsters have never disappeared.
And the gods continue to observe humanity.
As long as the dimensional fissures remain open, the System will continue to choose new Chosen.
Because despite centuries of relative peace, one truth remains.
The world has never truly stopped being a battlefield.
